This is just a quick snapshot of what I have started and not finished this year. Its easy for me to start a knife and difficult to finish one. I need to get these done though for Christmas presents.
So who has it worse than me, lets see those pics of your unfinished knives.
Chris

Here's a quick pic I just snapped of all "in progress" blades on my bench right now, including one of my little two finger wharnies that's getting really close!

I love seeing pics of what's on peoples' benches, keep 'em coming:thumbup:

Now that's just not right John!!:p Is your shop an industrial factory?!?!

Seriously, that looks like a beautiful place to work on knives. I like it!

you guys are making me feel lazy:o I only have 4 on the go right now, the little EDC I am finishing up, my Damascus blade, another bowie are all HT and waiting for a finish and I have my take on a semi traditional Tanto profiled and waiting for me to grind the primary bevel on. I also have a few knife related projects on the go right now, Etcher, ferric chloride tank, and of course my grinder in a box. hopefully the tanto will be the last knife I make with file power and the grinder is up and running in the new year. the little 30X1 grinder has been relegated to wood working duties, steel just kills the belts even though they are the right type of belt.

Guys, thanks for the kind words regarding my shop. I worked in a 14x20 shop for over 20 years and got to the point where i could not move in it. A couple of years ago we built a 48x32 three story building. My shop is on the second level. Mostly wood working but i have been adding tools for knife making over the past few years. I dont want to hijack this thread so i will try to post more shop pics in a separate thread at some point.

I usually have only one or two going at a time. This is on my mill right now. Doesn't look much like a knife yet does it?

I also have a frame-handled fixed-blade fighter that should be done before too long... and a nice little rosewood-handled hunter/fighter that is done except for some leather pants. No photos of those yet.

Well, I haven't participated much recently (been partying with the fam). This is what I have left going this year. I hope to have most, if not all, of them done by April. The bulk will end up on my table at the Oregon Knife Collectors Association show in Eugene.

Wow guys, some nice stuff here. Beauty of a shop there John.

My first, and subsequently only Knife in progress.

The Mini skinner.

That's a neat design, Carl. John, being a woodworker myself, that shop is out of some kind of dream...

Four will hopefully be done by Christmas. Not pictured is a fillet knife currently being cerakoted by shotgunner. The steak knife below the waterjet cut blanks is my son's first in progress. The And, oh yeah, my homage to Sam Salvati.

Thanks! heres a close up on it. It's a lil hard to see. It's how I do my maker's mark. I use a extra fine sharpie and write my name draw some fancy whoopie doo's and then go back over it pointillism style so the ink is nice and thick. I set it down in a bath of vinegar for a 4-6 hours wipe the slime off. My name and art is raised above instead of indented. I buff with grey Hard #2 on a sissal wheel, and it brings it to a shine.

Thanks a bunch man! I appreciate the compliment. Here is a pic I just took of the smaller Wharnie after some hand sanding last night. It's getting closer, just a little more work to do.....

Yeah... it's not actually CNC... just a hand-cranked mill-drill w/ DRO's. It's my second venture into the realm that gave me THIS KNIFE. It's a slightly different design, but you get the idea. I've got a few other things going right now... but finishing that one is high on my priority list. :D Erin
