Ok I finally got around to taking some pictures, these are what I am working on. <snip>

You know I thought you may have have broken into my shop! At least I am not the only one with a Park TS-2 on the adjustable base sitting on a wood grain(sorta) work bench!

Only question, where did you put my engine!

Blindhogg, you know it was a free engine that I pulled out of somebodies back yard and I was a little worried about the number 2 piston having been burnt through, that it may have pounded the crank journals and warped the case. It came apart actually really easy and is completely straight! I think I am going to turn this thing into an air compressor though.

I melted it down to make some handle fittings:p

The pictures were actually taken at my work, a bike shop. That is the only wooden bench there, the rest have stainless tops. I took the pictures there because the lighting is better.

Is that an intergral?

Its not an integral, the ferrule is wrought with copper spacers on both sides, here is couple of closer pics. Sorry for the poor quality of the pics.

You know I am getting a real kick out of seeing a small glimpse of the guys workshop and workbench, and of course the half finished knives.
Oh and um I was fortunate enough to handle Jerry Fishers knife today when he dropped by today for a visit. Um, Its the nicest knife I have handled in a very long time. The pics do not do it justice.

I get a lot of crap about how I keep my shop too neat/clean to actually work in. Truth is, I simply cannot work in chaos... it doesn't work. BUT, sometimes you gotta do stuff that's just plain messy. I recently bought two milling machines and a lathe with a ton of tooling. I had planned on just keeping the machines in storage until I get a new (bigger) shop.

Well, where I had the stuff stored ended up being about as weather proof as being outside... so EVERYTHING got rusty. Fortunately it was mostly surface rust and nothing super tragic. But you gotta get it off and stopped in the Northwest, or it WILL ruin your tools in no time. So that's what I'm currently doing, even though I'd rather not be!!! :)

This is my welding bench BTW, not my knife work bench.

Here's a bunch of tooling that's done and ready to go back into service soon :)

I finally managed to get some pictures uploaded.
My main project at the moment is actually building a workbench.
I've got next week off so I think I'll upgrade the high tech electrical system I have now :D

OT: here's a few projects in different stages of completion.
The bottom one will be a Lapland style puukko. They have a 'mushroom' shaped butt.
Puukko's are designed to be used mainly for pull cuts.
The 'mushroom' butt enables the user to use in the cold wearing mittens.

PS Tanks Karl Anderson for the inspiration
