Let's see your Becker survival sheaths!

Here's my BK-16 setup that I had with me at the gathering. Been refining it for a while now; but isn't all kit always a WIP?

Major components: The BK-16, a gobspark ranger firesteel, a hank of decoy cord, and a tin of goodies.

For containers, I have some ziplocs, and some aluminum foil.

For water, I have bleach in a dropper, and some Katadyn tablets for backup.

for fire, I have PJCB's, a fresnel lens, and a baggie of strike anywhere matches and fatwood shavings.

Extra tools, I have a credit card sized diamond hone, and a button compass, the tin is wrapped in spiderwire, and 100MPH tape.

This kit is the evolution of the kit I carried in the August '11 challenge, I've learned much since then. still need a way to jam an emergency blanket in there somewhere ...

My BK 2 Sheath i recently finished was the first sheath I've ever made. I couldn't be happier with it. Its multi carry and totally universal. If i want it on my left side for carrying a firearm on my right, i just need to change around the orientation which is held together with stainless hardware. The retention strap is removable, and reversible too. These pics are set up for right hand dangler, or left hand scout. Two screws and its left hand dangler, right hand scout. The dangler is removable for that high ride also.

I really would like to see how you made it reversible because I'd love to make one or get one made for my tracker.

Yall have some sweet setups! I usually carry my kit (altoids can) in my pack and have my becker on my person. Now that I've seen these I may have to make a cool sheath like yalls.

hey lethal 289, nice package ! :D

no shots of the tins but it's the usual stuff: firesteel, lil bic, firestraws, charcloth, fatwood, paracord, matches, bandaids and antibiotic

I really like this knife and KCR Scout sheath, (Skystorm) but haven't outfitted the Altoids tin/pocket yet. I'm glad to see what others have included in their kit.

Well forgive me for not following the parameters of your thread but many have been able to do so. Regardless, and with all due respect, here is what I made for my much beloved BK7. Decidedly not survival but it makes me happy nonetheless.

that's a good looking sheath, HoosierQ. And I guess u can call it a survival sheath - it keeps the edge fron cutting you so you don't bleed to death :D

This is still a work in progress, I'm calling it my everything but the kitchen sink mod.

Starting out with the basic BK-7, and I will put my BK-11 behind the SNUS tin.

Added a Molle pouch made by condor,

The SNUS tin will hold Char cloth and other tinder, Altoids tin is a basic FAK.

Managed to get my multitool in there,
Have my fire steel, small flashlight, some para cord and a survival blanket

I have more room so ill be adding some snare wire, and fishing stuff.

The one good thing is i can wear it or I have a scabbard for my Shotgun the has Molle attachments, so in case of zombies. I can grab it all it one shot

Excellent rigs folks, very inspiring,

Hijack on,

A word on the bleach, make sure it is plain bleach. Not scented, or the new splash resistant stuff. I use your basic clorox. Cheap and easy, just don't get it on clothes,

Hijack off,

Very cool. Are there links available to direct folks on how to make these firestraws and other survival items?

You can find lots of vids on YouTube. Basically, make some petroleum jelly cotton balls, stuff them inside of a inch or two of plastic straw. Crimp the ends with pliers to shut the ends, and melt/seal with the lighter.

Yup, youtube is the way to go. I saw a very good video about cotton balls and PJ in straws and he even added some magnesium to a few.

Never used paraffin, but the PJ is very easy to get into the cotton balls. And burns for a good while.

Lord help me, this isn't all of it. Not by a long shot.

Hey man long time no see! Glad you are back in these parts. Do you have carbide scraper/sharpeners attached to those?
