We have covered Hiking Knives and Survival knives in recent threads so I though it would be good to see some camp knives.
To me a Camp knife is usually a little too heavy or bulky to take hiking but functions as a do-it-all tool around the campsite from chopping wood to cutting up those steaks !:D:thumbup:
Here is one of my favourites, my MOD4 Survival....

This is my modified Ontario Machete. I use it for everything. It's the 12" version w/ the thick steel. Have not gotten around to making a handle for it yet.

It might be nice but it is no safe queen. I used it last weekend on the Adirondacks fall canoe trip I posted pics of in an earlier thread. I can't see owning a knife and letting it collect dust. It is one of only a few large blades I own but it is easily my favorite. Cuts like crazy, chops maple like nobody's business and gets looks of envy from all my camp buddies.

Thanks for the compliment! Come on one of the trips I post and try it out, you'll want one too!

Pit, if you ever want to trade that big guy, you let me know...I'm calling first dibs!! Gene

Here's some of my favorites...
BK 9, Kelsey Creek Camp, Spivey Sabertooth, Fehrman First Strike, and finally my modded Scrapper6.

No pics right now, but I have black and green micarta Bravo-1, a Swamp Rat Camp Tramp that has been stripped, and a Scott Gossman Tusker on the way, 6" blade. Larry Nowicki camp knife too.

pitdog....nice i have on of those and need to get to work on making it better....oh i can see your head yo.....

I used to have one of those Blackjacks....I sold it...it is the single largest regret I have in my knife collecting history! I would be happy to have one of the BK's now....I have trade fodder Guyon! Gene

I have had little use for this knife so far (I got it at the end of summer) played around with it in the back yard a little.

I have gotten away from big choppers somewhat. But these two chop nicely for their blade size:
