Let's See Your Camp Knives !

Sweet blades everyone! No pics but I use a 12" Ontario Machate. Used it last year for camp and it worked well. But...it just wet my whistle for something custom..hmmm! Choppers are just fun to use!

I have some camp knives. These are all users. Since I can't choose between them I rotate everytime.

On the pic is also a Busse SH-e, but I don't like it much. This one is more for fun testing.

Khuknri House Bahadur.

My preferred backyard brush tool. Very sharp and has a nice temper line.

I under exposed these pictures so they are a little dark.

ilbruche,

If you ever want to sell that bahadur let me know. I love the shape of that Khuk.

Really nice cutlery. Thanks for the pics.

Nothing wrong with that bro, the RAT 3 is one of the most respected knives on the forum !!!!

that's why I got it. ;)

I think it's to small as a main camp knife, but would pair perfectly with a larger blade.

The two knives I carried while hunting were RAT 3 which did everything from cutting firewood, to slicing butter(haha I know, not really a worthy job for such a nice knife). My USMC Ka Bar got less use and just batoned pine branches and cut down a small tree(shown in pic). The duo served me well and I never felt I "needed" any more knives... Well this thread changed that, thanks guys.;)

Ka Bar with top half of tree missing. Well on second thought I wouldn't consider that a "tree" its too small.

And I just threw this in for good measure. Its the solar still I threw together just to see if it worked. It did, and I wetted my whistle.

the bahadur looks way smaller in hand than i expected. unless you just have bear mits.

The blade has 8 1/2" of cutting edge. OAL is 14". It is 2" wide at the belly and 1 3/8" at the thinnest point. It is 1/4" thick with a gradual distal taper and tapered tang.

It is a really nice khuk.

I, too, really like the looks of the Bahadur. It is reminiscent of my Becker Machax but maybe a bit prettier.

Does anyone know if they're still available?
