Let's see your Charlie SFOs

When you guys show off these knives, it does my old heart good.
It kinda started when it was too hard and too expensive to buy old knives in good condition. I'd pick up old Harness Jacks for 40-50-60 bucks, and suddenly they were $150 - $200 and more!!!
I was after Case many times to make some, but they never listened.
Finally Queen accepted an order, and Bill made a bunch.
Haven't looked back since!!

Thanks for celebrating them here. The HJs were, and still are great, but the Barlows are off the charts. A hard act to follow - GEC does me proud!!
They take my ideas, and put them into reality! Dreams coming true every time!!
I'm outta words - - - - -thanks!!!

Charlie, there are many of us here who are equally grateful to both you and Bill for such fine and unique cutlery. Keep 'em comin'!

KBA, your picture proves the point of view...Charlie is an Artist:thumbup:

Gevo I would agree. The HJ is next on my list but it will be a while now that school has stated back. As a teacher I cant carry and I need to pay for grad school, but the HJ in either ebony or Chestnut will be added. Then again ... maybe both.

Charlie, you are making all of our dreams come true. I thank you, but my wife and my wallet don't! LOL!

Honestly, I don't think I would have been where I am today without the influence of your SFOs. I never even owned a traditional slipjoint until after I held one of your TC barlows in my hands and commenced to drool all over myself and, to Phil's dismay, all over the Charlow I was holding. The next day, I ordered my first $4 old stock Imperial barlow. It wasn't until I received it and was unhappy with the flimsy plastic handles and hollow bolster, that I decided to modify it. Long story short, 7 months later, here I am beginning to make my own custom slipjoints.

When my wife asks why I spend so much time in my workshop/garage, can I blame it on you? :highly_amused:

Evan don't you think it's kind of rude to ask Charlie that now, when you already do it all the time? LOL!

Don't act like you don't blame Charlie already! :D

Charlie, I think Evan's wife may have mixed feelings about you and your SFOs. ;)

Its funny, I never warmed to the Sheepsfoot main, until I owned the T/C Barlow version BAM! my tastes changed dramatically overnight....

They are stunning knives, especially when we know of such rich sentimental value has been added to such a fine knife - like this...

Nah...you got more than enough sheep in NZ, let those 2 go. ;)
Seriously beautiful knives there. If ever you find your attraction cooling off, I'd be the first in line :D

I have to agree with you Duncan :)

My T/C will be here today, first Barlow, I already appreciate the history so hopefully it "does it" for me.

My two Charlows were in Dallas as of midnight so I may have them by this evening but I'm tempted to save them until my birthday on Saturday just to prolong the anticipation. We'll see if I have the will power.

These are all gorgeous knives. How does one go about getting one? Is there a secret handshake?

I would be very interested in a single-blade sheepsfoot Charlow
in bone or wood.

You guys really love rubbing salt in wounds. I have wanted one of the Charlows for some time. With all of these pictures, I may sell off a knife or two and buy one. Shame on you all for having such beautiful knives :D .

Discuss the knives, please, not where to buy one.
