Lets see your CPK in Leather!

Interesting question. Hopefully Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist can chime in and clarify any changes to the fore-end of the handle.

Sounds like it'll be a little bit different don't know if it will be a problem with the changes for a leather sheath

"There are some updates with the new release of this classic pattern. Compared to the original Shiv, there is the thumb ramp jimping and deep chamfers we have become known for (these are found on some of the later production OG Shivs). The finger guard is a little bigger. The heat treat is now our fully optimized Delta Heat Treat (an early version of this was also found on the last few OG Shivs to leave the shop, though they were un-marked.) The hand grip has been tweaked a little. The primary grind has been narrowed a hair and the fuller has been adjusted to compensate (I'm keeping the weight and balance roughly the same through the distribution of material and the sectional modulus is basically unchanged). I'm stretching the point out 1/2" to give it a full 8" edge length rather than 8" tip to scale. "

#notPaulLong that sounds like enough changes to wait for the new ones to come out before making any sheaths.

The new Shiv will probably not fit in a sheath built for the OG Shiv. The new Shiv has larger ramps, a different handle, and a longer blade

Sheath #2 is all but done. After its Ulticlip Slim shows up, it’ll go in the mail for the great woodysone woodysone . That guy is special and deserves a higher skill level than I yet have, but it’s from my 🖤. Martin, feel free to beat the crap outta this one and thank you for the many kind gestures !D962B14D-3686-477C-8559-A7BADADF5926.jpegD05C5ADA-1CE4-48F9-A741-48D77711FF7B.jpeg93AC1AF9-8875-4684-AC51-62B0AE0C65DA.jpeg

Based on the sheath in the photo on post 2270 then new shiv might "fit" but not a designed fit.

Blade length and handle thickness at the guard or choil are key considerations when designing a sheath patter for perfect fit.

It's no secret that many knives will "fit" many sheaths and sometimes you get lucky,

but a perfect fit usually means a pattern designed for a specific knife, but there are very slight differences even in the "same"

model factory knives.
