This vintage JouFuu cross draw sure goes well with my Osage DEK1, if I do say so myself. 😁

You sir, are not wrong. That is indeed a beautiful combo ! When I finish up this Kephart sheath, I’d be more than happy to trade you for that JouFuu……straight across, no cash my way……just cuz I’m that kinda guy ! 🤙🏼

P.S. I’ll even through in the Kep for your DEK………along with my left 🥜

Alright folks, I eluded to it being Paul Long CPK Leatherpolooza '23 in another thread........
Ya, know, it my be getting close to time for me to send a big ‘ole box of CPKs to Mr. Long for some skin work. I have been known to do that in the past with the understanding that my brethren get to have sheaths made at that time using my knives for fitment. That will probably take care of your need for a sheath or sheaths from the venerable one.

Some are already weighing in with requests.........

Soooo…..
Let’s bring this thread back on track

Oh, Grenock Grenock , send one’a these to Mr. Long. This one needs lefty leather to match my FK2.

So, I just got off the phone with Mr. Long a little bit ago to start setting this up. Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to do it like we have done in the past. At just shy of 90 years young, he is still going to be making sheaths, but he has decided it is time to slow down a little bit, and the idea of 50 to 60 sheaths being ordered at one time, like we have done in the past, doesn't appeal to him. I am going to still send a knife or two, but we can't open it up to a run of sheaths on those models this time. So, my apologies to everyone if I got your hopes up that we were gonna do it again.

It was a very kind thought. Thank you !

It’s alright Marc, you have been very generous, and I’m sure I speak for everyone in saying we appreciate it.

Well, my first try at sheath making was a VERY HUMBLING experience. I’ve got a great deal to learn and probably need a few more tools. Very challenging, yet relaxing.

My hat is off to you true craftsmen out there that produce such amazing sheaths. The pics , videos, and conversations that you’ve provided on the forum are invaluable to NOOBS like me.

This sheath ain’t pretty. It’s riddled with mistakes and it took me a rediculously long time to make. That being said, it’s sturdy and has great retention. Hopefully it will serve my kid well next summer, while woodland 🔥fighting.C2DB41F9-A8AE-4534-9F65-9C5E0BF40A67.jpegBB11AC6D-BADF-487A-B49D-715D1708AAE7.jpeg
