Well, my first try at sheath making was a VERY HUMBLING experience. I’ve got a great deal to learn and probably need a few more tools. Very challenging, yet relaxing.
My hat is off to you true craftsmen out there that produce such amazing sheaths. The pics , videos, and conversations that you’ve provided on the forum are invaluable to NOOBS like me.
This sheath ain’t pretty. It’s riddled with mistakes and it took me a rediculously long time to make. That being said, it’s sturdy and has great retention. Hopefully it will serve my kid well next summer, while woodlandfighting.View attachment 2114374View attachment 2114382

Thank you. I hope for the next one to be a “”lesson learned”.Nice work!
Nice sheath. And I love those scales. I wish they would bring those back as a current option.
They have a thicker palm swell than the standard micarta, a really nice secure grip.Nice sheath. And I love those scales. I wish they would bring those back as a current option.
I'm so happy to see that knife in that sheath! I don't think you have anything to worry about wrt the top edge.Lorien 's lovely UF2 sheath snuggling with a recently-arrived DEF2. (Marginally concerned about how the top edge interacts with the sheath, but it seems fairly reasonable at first glance.)

I could do a one off, if not a run. I'd need one in hand to do it thoughWould you do a small run of these for the 2nd gen shiv when it arrives? I love this sheath and want one for my shiv.

Interesting question. HopefullyIf you need one to build the sheaths with I can ask The CPK crew to ship mine to you.
Edit: Or I could ship my 1st gen to you sooner. I don’t know how extensive the handle changes will be, though.
I should probably put off taking anything new on until after Blade. There are a lot of knives I'm working on, including some POCs for Nathan, which I really should focus on. I also want to build another folder for the show, and that work is damn time and attention consuming for me.If you need one to build the sheaths with I can ask The CPK crew to ship mine to you.
