I absolutely love that sound !!! Itās one of many very unique and special traits that your sheaths have Lorien. Very very cool .
Are you saddle stitching the sheaths or using the sewing awl in the background?Well, my beautiful wifey and I are meeting the outlaws in Hawaii on Wednesday. Hawaii has awesome knife laws but the 2nd Amendment is seemingly frowned apon, wtf. ???
A short while back and like most of us do, I started wondering which knives Iād bring to the island paradise. Theyād need to be sturdy and durable, stainless, yet elegant. WTF? Elegant ? Why, why, why ? Well, when your on vacationā¦..you gotta look good !
Out of my collection, the travel folder and small fixed blade choices were easy. Iāll bring a CRK 31 Sebenza and a REK 3.0, both in Magnacut. Better include a Leatherman Wave, also.
Chopper, sword, dagger, and the likeā¦.nah. Weāre just going to chill and ya gotta have āgeneralā knife options, of course. This leads us to the big questionā¦ya see. Carothers has become my favorite fixed blade knife for the same reasons that we all share. So which one ???

Almost obviously, the Magnacut DEK1 will be making the trip. Itās wet over there, it conceals well, and itās such a versatile knifeā¦ā¦ā¦.utilitarian, yet deadly.
So hereās the dilemma: I only had a beat up kydex sheath for that particular Hawaii bound DEK1. That said, I took advantage of every minute of spare time during this 36 hour of overtime week and threw this leather togetherā¦.
Although I know each and every flaw in this sheath, I like how it turned out. The retention is amazing and I think Iām starting to develop a style thatās kinda ā my ownā. That said, Iāve been high-jacking the techniques and styles of superior sheath makers from the forum, for a bit now. You know who they are. I deeply appreciate there inspirational contributions to our āknife addictionā and my new found hobby.
Btw, ādrunk postingā is A THING so here it is againā¦View attachment 2363967

I live in Utah. So I'm an hour ahead of the west coastP.S.-
Are you on the West Coast ? I only ask because itās so late.
That's awesome that you found something so cathartic. I think we all need to find what recharges us. For me it's target shooting and camping in the mountains or red desert.I hear ya bro. I donāt sell sheaths either but I am TRYING to keep āmany knives aroundā.
Iāll tell u what though, my friendā¦.making sheaths these last few months has given me the peace that my life requires in this crazy sad world of ours. Itās serene and wonderful !
Thanks man ! I got them from the Owden store on Amazon. You've really been at it, awesome work!

Four elite artists' samples right there. Stellar taste!
