this sheath was a quickie. I hope to do a small batch at some point in the future

How do you like your Wesco boots ? I have them in mind for a pair I want made this summer along with Nick's boots and Frank's Boots of Spokane Washington I believe!
The single best boots I've ever had. I went doe the full, custom measured and fit program. I have 2 pairs and love 'em. 16 hours in a pair of boots, no problem. I fought wildland fires for 3 years in redwings and loved them... But the wescos are just so much better.

Thanks TR...i think for my first pair ill go with Frank's Boots after doing the research that seems like the best choice for me is Frank's
Boots ! ...also TR do you still offer custom
Scales ?... Thanks for your time and help !

to the four of you who've committed already, just want you to know that due to unavoidable, (and shitty) circumstances I may not be able to get them in the mail til later in the week.

dagger sheath prototype turned out ok
That is cool! Looks like you got inspired by traditional pukko sheaths wooden insert with nice retention. I also liked the leather belt clip, it is amazing that you managed to make it to looks as solid as a metal/plastic clip. I guess it functions as it looks too! Do you sell those or do you make them for yourself?

I think I'm more inspired by kydex. Probably sounds weird, but my aim is to work with leather, but provide the same type of security as plastics.

I have, and have handled, many beautifully crafted sheaths which really only function as knife cases. Not to slag that approach, but that is not what I want for my own work, which may be ugly in comparison but functions at the same level as the knife they're designed to carry, deploy, and resheath.

Performance, ergonomics and longevity is my goal, maybe one day I'll be able to work on the looks, too, lol.

For now, I'm building my knowledge base and skillset so a lot of the work I'm currently doing is experimental. Sheaths of that variety which I don't keep for my own use will go to those who've been supportive of my work, free of charge. This is an example;

I'll be working through a number of CPK sheath designs and figuring out ways to create batches of them efficiently while meeting my stated goal. I'm aiming to be the CPK of sheaths for CPKs.
I like custom work, too, but most people want pretty sheaths or overbuilt sheaths and my work doesn't really fit into either niche, particularly. Additionally, I'm not super interested in doing things where I'm limited overly in my approach. It's the design of the sheaths, and I guess things generally, that drives me, and that focus can get in the way of doing what other people want🤷‍♂️

The belt clip was an experiment that ended up working pretty well for keeping everything where it's supposed to be, (iwb), but doesn't retain the sheath in place during deployment. I think a secondary lanyard system will work out pretty well with this and I'll give that a go in the next couple days. The second set of holes are available, so I could make something interesting instead of a piece of paracord. Could integrate a retractable system...🤔

cpirtle cpirtle I found a new way to carry my K18. By attaching both rings to the top strap, It rides comfortably in the cross draw position. You could add the behind the back attachment if you need more length.

I really like that UF2 sheath. It’s like it has the narrower profile of taco kydex but in leather. Literally what I’d want for the uf2. Also Lorien, your boot dagger sheath reminds me of my favorite dagger sheath, the one that goes to the Winkler-Williams Special Mission Dagger. Nice work! 👍
