Lets see your CPK in Leather!

May I ask you something regarding a new UF2 sheath Jo just sent me ? For screws attaching - say a Mummert or Ulti-clip, would you put silencers between screw head and leather ? Thanks !
#NotChad

I received a UF sheath from Chad with a Mummert clip that came with his custom hardware. It had a metal washer between the screw head and leather. I also have used the hardware from Mummert without the washer because their screw head had sufficient width. Hope that helps.

I typically only use spacers or washers (rubber or steel) if needed for proper fitment. A wide panhead or truss screw should not need a washer against the leather, but a smaller head may need one just to get a good bite on the leather and not pull into the hole. All that being said a washer never hurts other than adding a touch of bulk.

The clip side is different, if you need to move it out from the sheath body for clearance reasons you can use spacers but otherwise they are not necessary or will cause retention issues. For example, the Mummert uses the sheath body for retention, if you stand it off the sheath without a landing pad for the clip it will not have tension. The UltiClip and most DCS models use their own body for tension and can be stood off without issues. A G-Clip or TekLok usually need a stand-off to clear the molding around the scales.

Sorry if that's TMI :)

Great info, thanks !

That’s frickin’ cool.. love it!
It works out pretty damn good, almost like they were made for each other and I did it on a DEK1 sheath as well. With the UF2 sheath, I did have to use 1/8” rubber washers between the kydex and the sheath to bump the adapter out and adequately clear the swell in the leather for the handle. They weren’t needed on the DEK1.

cpirtle cpirtle - this is an outstanding sheath; with it, easy to forget that the UF2 has a 6” blade, even when driving .... Thanks to you and Jo the Machinist Jo the Machinist .
