Let's see your GEC #23's, 73's, 83's and 72's

Mistype error! I meant a 73. Slip joint not lockback. I have had a couple 72 clips and it's a thing of beauty but I can't warm up to lockbacks

Thank you Harry, yes I am a ways down, but this knife checked a lot of boxes for me. I believe the left handed versions were a mistake and GEC just went with it. Yours is a beauty, that dark line on the pile side is amazing!

I am not sure that the Left Hand versions were Mstakes . This is one that I traded Half/Stop Ron out of in 2017 .

Wow, that one has amazing jigging! I thought I heard that a number of blades had the nail nick cut on the wrong side and so the lefty GEC was born. But it might not be true.

Frank.K Frank.K : Mine was made in 2009 : There were 58 TIDIOUTEs made in the 735109 LHL configuration of which 32 were Antique Black Jigged Bone and 100 NORTHFIELDs made in the 735109 LHL configuration of which 51 were Burnt Stag . I am not familiar with the GEC equipment and fixtures for milling or grinding the Nail Nick into the Blades but I can't imagine any fixture that would have allowed them to even do that . I may be wrong because I have seen a lot of screw ups that I just found very hard to believe .

I’m just going on memory, I could very well be wrong. I appreciate the numbers and mine is a 09 as well. I guess they are quite rare.

Edit: I just had a thought for a potential scenario: What if the blades were put into the jig that is used to cut a nail nick into a secondary blade like a spey, those are often on the other side.
