Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

Thanks for the Welcome Sunnyd,
This is the knife that I've had the longest. I remember very well the day my dad picked it out and bought it for me. I was about 8 or 9 in `61 or `62 on my first bow hunting trip with the "men"

knowtracks,
Super nice vintage stag Case XX fixed blade I believe. I'll bet that knife holds some memories for you no doubt! I still love to go bow hunting myself more than any other type of hunting trip.

ron mathews,
Another wonderful old vintage Randall. The middle knife looks very familiar and if I stare at it long enough it will come to me.. But the bottom knife is unmistakeably Bill Skagel's.. It is absolutely beautiful. How did you come by such a treasure?

Thanks again, Sunny. The middle knife is a Delaware Maid drop point hunter by Loveless. One of the ones from the 2nd order that Abercrombie & Fitch in NY reneged on in the mid 50's and Loveless held on to until after he had moved to Riverside.
I picked up the Scagel on e-bay a number of years ago and have since sold it (as well as the Loveless) to further my Randall collection. You can't collect them all! I feel fortunate to have been able to "rent" them for a while. :D

I love Amboyna.. Some of the prettiest wood grain I've ever seen!.. Thanks for that Bark River Teddy there brewthunda

Here is a wonderful old hunting knife design from a famous American Custom knife maker that is indestructible..

Rudy Ruana was a visionary in knife design and custom knife forging at a time when most folks did not know what hand made custom knife making was all about.

Here is an old vintage hunting & camping combo made by WESTERN, COLORADO, USA that is also is on a neighboring thread in case any of you all may have missed it I felt it would be ok to submit it here as well..:)

Always one in the bunch and here I be. :p

I do not have a camera, then again most folks are familiar with the Old Hickory line by Ontario Knife Company. http://www.ontarioknife.com/oldhickory.html

Oh yeah, I really have used these for a long long time for a fixed blade knife and still do.
Now state regulations "sez" a blade less than 3.5" is "legal" so if I want to stick one in my back pocket - in a sheath made from 3x5" index cards [my fancy sheath] or scrap cardboard sheath [woods walking , hunting, fishing, camping...]

Product number 753 - the 3 1/4" Paring knife is my most used, carried, toted fixed blade.

Now I am an older returning College Student, so sometimes one is in a backpack in the event I need to cut something like food for a meeting on campus , or like I have done- cutting the end of a heater hose past the split , and re-attach to get a lady classmate safely up and running.
It was dark, and though my pocketknife would have handled this chore...I chose this knife (the one kept in the truck, not backpack) to do this cutting.

Product 750 - 4" Paring knife has been a favorite as well.

Product 7-6 - 6" Butcher Knife - also has proven itself for camping duties and all as well.

1095 blades, takes an edge and keeps it - real easy to touch up and maintain.

Still the 753 - 3 1/4" Paring knife is my favorite.

Bought a dozen recently at the local Mom&Pop hardware store, got a break on price on buying a dozen, got free popcorn and messed with the dawg that all us customers spoil rotten.

I keep these handy and some close folks to me - got to noticing how well mine were doing with all the outdoor stuff we were doing.
So I picked up some for them and put me back some spares.

Older I get - wait a second. I am not going backwards, I never quit doing how raised.

:)

Regards,

Steve

How about a classic 6 inch Marble's Ideal with stacked leather handle and stag pommel.

Man, all these beautiful knives! I'm sittin' here sick as a dog off from work, no energy to get up and out, so I thought I'd try my hand at putting some pictures in here too. I have three fixed blades, a Case 5 Finn from the Razor Edge set, a Queen #92 in the carved stagged bone, and a Queen #74 also in the CSB. These are my squirrely huntin' knives!

Ya don't think Sunny has a thing for those big stickers do ya? :D Nice one.

Phil, sorry to hear you're feeling bad, but glad to see those pretty little knives. I've been giving those bone stag, D2 Queen fixed blades some thought. They seem like a good knife value as well as just looking good.

You mentioned in the Copperhead thread that you got some of your copperheads from Greg over at PGQuick. I've posted this already here, but I'll toss it in again as it is an SFO Queen I got from Greg off eBay. Not D2, but a neat little knife none the less.

Here's a Sheffield bowie by William Rodgers in carbon steel with jigged hard rubber handle scales. I bought it in Mexico City in the mid 70's, sheath was custom made over here, note that I cut off the top of the guard.

This is an old Hofftitz Bowie with 6" blade 1/4 inch thick, yet great shape and grind. Nice pinned stag handles. Great for EDC.

Phil..... those are great looking knives. Thanks for sharing:thumbup:

Thank you! My photography skills aren't too great, but I did try to get a good angle on them. Need more imagination for backgrounds though. I like the little Queen 92 that is paired up with the Case Finn so well that when I found out that Queen cutlery was discontinueing the carved stag bone handles I went out and found a brand new one just like it so that if I ever broke or lose one I'll still have another. The second one came out of the box with a perfect grind and razor sharp, unlike the first one. :o The newer one has a better sheath too, plus I actually paid ten bucks LESS for it than I did the first. :D

BTW, I'm feeling much healthier tonight. Antibiotics 1, germs 0, I win. Looking at all these beautiful knives didn't hurt either. :p
