Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

This guy just flew into the house Wednesday. I never tried out an original Sharpfinger, though I had always planned to, so when this larger sized homage to that style popped up for a lot cheaper than I expected it to, I just couldn't pass it up. A Daniel Prentice Sharpfinger. While it's not a Bowie, it's most definitely a sticker.

I picked this up off the auction site for a song (less than the sheath is worth!) so decided to give it a try. Description said 1095/15N20 of 150 layers, 57-59 HRc, and it reminded me of Fisk's Sendero model, which I've never been able to afford. The handle is ram's horn, but the edge is thick, so I convexed it on the belt sander (300 grit) and then put a micro-bevel on it with a 600 grit steel. I'm gonna hack and chop with it and see how it holds up. 10" OAL with a 5½" blade.

A little gimmicky perhaps, but this Condor Otzi arrived in my afternoon mail

I don't doubt it can work, but I feel somehow a bit slightly insulted by this ridiculous attempt at engineering a knife and selling it as some sort of "primitive" concept. While I definitely like "simple/plain/down to the earth" concepts, i just can't get this one. Not at all.

Here is my latest fixed blade, its a Helle 75 ars Jubileum. I've been looking online at Helles for a couple of years. This summer a big box store started carrying a few and after looking at them they seemed like decent knives but I still didn't get one.I went on vacation last week and ended up stopping into DLT Trading. TheyView attachment 993781 had a few different ones so I decided to try this one out.
