Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

Sunburst, that is a fine looking knife. No doubt you can't wait to wrap your hand around it.

SunnyD is a bad influence! Thanks to you, I just made a payment to Eddie for a bone handled mini-IX! He happened to have one on hand so I don't even have to wait 2 or 3 weeks. I'm looking at making that one my 50th birthday present to myself. So, yeah, I'm wired waiting just like Sunburst is, and it's all your fault. Okay, maybe Eddie shares the blame for making such sweet looking knives.

Btw, the one you show looks like the larger IX or is that the Model II? What are the specs on that one there? I feel the funds disappearing again soon.

This will also be the first handmade I've ordered for myself. Those prices are excellent btw!

LOL:D , You guys are the greatest..:D But in all seriousness you will not be disappointed with Eddie Whites work. That man can out grind any custom knife maker in the business and his custom sheathes feel and function more like Gun Leather Holsters than they do plain knife sheaths all for a price of a half decent factory job. Every knife I have gotten from Eddie shaves arm hair right out of the gate. They take an edge easily and cut like the dickens.. Trust me you will not be disappointed.

Here's my new one. Made by a chap in Brisbane, Oz. ATS34, convex edge, Queensland Walnut scales.

I'm seriuosly pleased with this knife, & looking forward to actually using it! :)

Bill, I posted a review earlier of a Rapid River knife I got recently. That KR is very nice and obviously very traditional. RR offers a production piece with a somewhat "gnarly" antler handle as well.

I'll have to see if they can make one up that is left-hand friendly ;)

What makes a fixed blade left or right handed ??

MM, nice stuff there!

Phil, sweet stuff indeed.

johnwaynesandw, both knife and sheath are quite nice.

Thanks Amos, I have not had a chance to use it yet, but I think I am going to like the way it cuts.

There are some very nice Fixed blades on here. I feel that looking over this tread I may have found a way to get broke real fast.

Thanks again,
John

I got that Shadowknife jewel in the mail today! Yep, no disappointment on this end. A beautiful knife and the sheath itself is a fine work as well. Since we're in a small town, I mentioned what it was to the Postmaster after I signed for the package. He mentioned when he was in Nebraska one of the fellows there made knives. So, I asked if it was okay to open it there. He said sure. He was impressed with it and said, "that one that's going on a shelf or in a drawer?" I replied a solid nope! I got it to have, to hold, to wear, and even cut things with here and there. I tossed it into my front jeans pocket and headed on down the road to the gun shop where it was also met with deep appreciation. One of the guys there who has an eye for knives was quite impressed with it and the sheath. He started saying, "that's a nice knife." As he handled it a litte more and looked it over a little more, he checked the edge and said, "Nah, it's not sharp at all. ;) " He tossed in a "That's a Really fine knife!" before handing it back. He asked again who made it stated he would have to check into that.

I'm on the wife's computer now and my scanner is down for a while so I can't scan a pick. Shame cause it's a nice one. Just imagine the one SunnyD had posted with a 2 15/16 inch blade. The sheath is a form fitted pouch type of heavy, well oiled leather wtih a belt loop folded to the back and well sewn. No fancy stuff on it, just a very well made, first class, knife carrier that is easily worth a good third or more of the cost of the knife. As Anthony pointed out, it's more like a quality gun holster. It also is a decent match for the holster my sixgun sits in. :D The knife itself represents an excellent value as it is. With the sheath it is even better.

Count me in as one more of those who have only great things to say about Eddie White's product. As SunndyD said, it's my new, very best...

Several years ago I had a nice Marbles that I had reshaped due to a broken tip that was "lost" somehow by my step father. As compensation he gave me the knife pictured below. Unfortunately it has some DEEP pitting due to, it being felt outside for some time. My step father found it laying on the ground at a rest area somewhere here in Oregon, and if you have ever been to Oregon, well, it rains here. ;)

I have been slowing working on it trying to get the pitting out but it still looks kind or rough.

It looks to be hand made, but by whom I have no idea.

BTW This is my first post to this forum. I have quite a few blades kicking around, perhaps I'll take pics of some of the other if anyone want to see them. One is a Schrade Walden 165 that looks almost new. (actually that knife is how I found this forum, and from what I've found out through HERE, it looks as if it must be a early 70's at the latest.)

Oh and disregard the bike stuff in the background in the pictures. I took these shots one day at work.

Amos Iron Wolf,

I am pleased you are satisfied with the shadowknife brand custom knife that you received from Eddie White. As you most likely already know I have no affiliation with him but after my first purchase from him I knew I was dealing with the genuine article. Amos as you now know first hand you get a custom package with someone who has grinded knives for Case XX, Blackie Collins, etc.. for the past 30+ years. And possibly the most amazing aspect of all this is that he makes custom sheathes to fit his custom knives all for a pittance price of what other custom knife-makers do. Even many custom knife makers in some cases with less than half the experience and talent than Eddie.. I have been around the block quite a few times in this business as a custom and production knife user and Eddie has out done most all of them IMO.

In any event I am glad you like you new knife Amos. All the best!

Cheers~

What a great thread this has been so far I hope this keeps going for a very long time.

Da**!! I guess I'm going to have to save up again!! :D

I have not been in this thread for a spell and have missed some great fixed blades. So I figured I'd catch up.

Thompson, I really like that Tomes camp knife with 1095, walnut scales, great cause and for that price. That is just super!.

billy hargett, Very nice set of stacked leather hunting knives you've got there.

Myal, Great vintage users, I am partial to the knife with Woodcraft style design with that sweet seasoned stag. If I were you I wood re-stitch the Indian Head sheath as that is one that is unique with lots of character, IMO.

Although I posted this one recently in the 'knife makers for sale' forum I thought I would post it here as well. I had been bugging poor Eddie at shadowknives for a while for a dyed smooth red bone drop point and he obliged me with this puppy..

Just acquired this knife with a 4 inch blade and just under 8 inches long altogether. Marked Venture Slater Sheffield. Still in pretty good condition.
