I purchased this knife from our own GL Drew about six weeks ago. It has quickly become my favorite bumming-around-outdoors knife. It’s sturdy, yet not bulky, and it cuts like the dickens.

That looks really nice

This Nicholas Nicholls Pocket Cleaver was included in a bumper box of goodies I received from @Reaper AL shortly before Christmas. I've really been enjoying carrying it :)

There were several more very special knives included in @Reaper AL 's parcel, but none more special, in my opinion than this custom Santoku made for me by one of Al's very talented grandsons. A note from Al told me that the 7 1/2" blade is 5160 High Carbon Steel, with a handle of Walnut, African Blackwood, and White Paper Micarta. I hope Al doesn't mind me quoting from the rest of his note:

"He cut the blade himself.
He cut the handle and fitted it.
Hand sanded it.

"He wanted you to have it.

"He in 14 years old."

Pretty incredible  What a kind, generous, and talented lad :) I'll treasure this knife for the rest of my life

Thanks a lot Gary :)

I had this older Western sitting on my workbench with a really dinged up and chipped edge. I worked on it this morning and it's ready to go now!

I remember those! Way back in the 1980's, a UK importer, briefly offered 3 Western knives for sale, that being one of them. In an era of chisel-ground 'survival knives', it looked to be a pretty good pattern. I remember intending to buy one, and only didn"t because the dealer closed down. Nice work my friend, looks like you're getting familiar with your Christmas present :)

Bought a nice cheap Mora but hated the crappy plastic sheath.
I never carry a knife on my belt, so I just needed something to protect it in the pack.
Threw this one together while watching the Colts lose the game in the first quarter. Take the points!!!

I have that very knife in my back pocket as I type this. Nicely done on the sheath!
