The first Outers pattern was made well before WW2 by Western Cutlery. An "outer" was slang for an outdoorsman or a survivalist type that spent a lot of time in the outdoors.

Moved from my "indoor" rollator (Nova Traveler, 3 wheels so narrower and no seat ) tote bag to strong side sock today. Weather will allow shorts for the next few days, so why not?

Me too. The plastic one is fiberglass reinforced or something.  Not very kind to edges.

No, I like the flexible belt loop on the original sheath. It allows you to have it on your belt, with the sheath in your jeans pocket, or even on the belt, with the sheath INSIDE the waistband. I have the original sheath for my Roach Belly, but gave my first Finn Bear to a friend, only to find CS had changed the sheath when I went to replace it. The plastic sheath also has a bigger footprint.
