It was a toss up between the Paisano AEB-L 2-3/4" blade, or the Cowboy AEB-L at 2-7/8" blade (now sold). My resolve did NOT hold out, so Paisano has a new home...

Thank you sir! I saw that order come through last night on my phone but didn't notice it was you. We were at some friend's house for dinner, so I'd just noticed it had sold, I didn't open nit to see the details. The pic doesn't do the ironwood justice!

Normally I dread getting knives for Christmas because I'm quite particular when it comes to knives, and I usually end up with some Mtech type chinese nonses.
This year was different though, because my mom and her husband not only got me a classic American traditional knife pattern but one that is American made which is something I care a lot about.

The Sharpfinger pattern never appealed to me visually, but aside from that I actually really like it.
The size is just about right, and it feels extremely good in hand.
This B&S example is nothing fancy but the fit and finish is great with a very clean and consistent edge that's fairly sharp.
I may actually be willing to take a gamble on a Bear & Sons knife now.

I can find almost nothing about this knife. Russell Harrington was 1933-2007. Somebody sold one of these as from the '60s, but didn't tell us how he knew.

I think they might have continued using this reproduction/ reissue label till sometime in the past 20 years because I have seen this label in the stock photo used by a few distributors.

The vinyl blade cover sure looks pretty modern to me, and I'm guessing that other person just thought 60's because of the label.

The knife itself just might be a special reissue or something.
