Let's see your good old basic fixed blades, Bowie's, Stickers, etc.

I've never used plasti-dip.
Hockey tape!
Do you remember this shiv I found among some old tools in the market, about 10 years back Jer?! :D If I had a sheath for it, I might do something with it! :D

Guess I'll keep it going Screened. If I posted these before [probably did in the last 10 years] sorry, but here goes

I'm really loving this and will definitely be on the lookout. Thanks for sharing it! I took a swing at the leather stacked version and lost... Lol. Apparently I'm not the only one out there that really likes and wants one!

Ah nothing like a healthy dose of tetanus!
This is AWESOME. What is the blade length? That is a big bad Bowie! I've not seen a larger marbles like this!

It's about 8" from the guard to the tip. Marbles Ideal blade style. That carbon steel gets wicked sharp, and I used the sandpaper on a mousepad trick to convex it. Great cutter.

It just dawned on me that it has the 2 line stamp, not the 3 line.....That would put it before WW2, 1930s maybe....
Nice!
I love this knife. It's my camping/hiking/outdoors companion, but I never researched it much. I will say that finding the same configuration anywhere is difficult. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Vintage Pontus Holmberg small fixed blade, made somewhere during the 1930's - 1950's timeframe in Sweden.
Imo the large fullers here mainly serve the purpose of resharpenability, as there is simply less steel to remove in the fullered area (think straight razor principle).

The steel used in many Pontus Holmberg blades is much harder and also much more wear resistant when compared to the (probably 52100 steel) in vintage Marble's knives.
My educated guess based on sharpening & hand regrinding several of these Pontus Holmberg knives is that they used a stainless tungsten alloy.
This knife is also in need of a hand regrind as some previous owner put on a blunt ~40 degrees inclusive secundary bevel on what was originally a full convex zero edge blade (which is able to take & hold a ~20 degrees inclusive convex edge)

I don't know if there is a thread "Under construction" or something similar, since this project will slowly start. Here are the parts. The blade is Puronvarsi leuku, 160 mm long. It arrived so sharp that the corner of the blade (at the tang) drew blood at a slight touch. The parts are there and some leather for the sheath.
