CONGRATULATIONS! That looks to be a mighty fine knife. Enjoy.I am fortunate to have just won an astonishingly fine sheath knife in a random-draw giveaway held in another, less seemly region of Bladeforums.
Very nice! Love the Green River knives, and the checkered handles are classic, looking good!
I'm really digging this bowie, can you tell me the maker?
Those Schrade Woodsmans have a Scagelesque look to them. Someday I'll find one (at a price I like).
If you're talking about the Schrade 165's posted by SAK Guy, then yeah, they are really nice. Those Schrade Woodsmans have a Scagelesque look to them. Someday I'll find one (at a price I like).
Thanks. That's a nice one!!!!! Really good shape!!!!:thumbup:
Good luck to you, but if you find one that calls your name, I say jump on it before it gets away.scrteened porch said:Yup, I'm talking about the 165s. There's one in an antique store near here, but a little too worn for the price. It just feels so right in the hand.
Some day I'll find one at a garage sale of a bitter divorcee.
The old folded milk bottle ploy has tightened up this gaucho knife in its sheath.

They certainly do.Do Moras count?[/IMG]![]()
Jack, if it weren't for all the silver, this would be very like a French kitchen utility knife. It's stainless (inox.), and has a twisted bugle that I assume is a trade mark.
There are a couple of pictures on the round-the-world must-have traditionals thread.
I think it would look swell tucked in the cummerbund or waistcoat at a black-tie barbecue.
