How do you like that Highland Special? Work well for woodwork? I really like the looks of that model, amongst several others. :)

I didn't like it very much when I pulled it out of the box. I thought it was too small for me.
But after I started using it,I found it to be a handy little knife & now I must admit that I like it a lot.
It has good blade thickness & the weight is just right. It's heavier than you might think.
For woodworking it's right up there with the rest of my Barkies, & that's a good thing!
If you want something a little bigger go for the Fox River.

I usually take one of these out with me...

Are either of these knives available online? I like 'em.

thanks

They are both handmade, the top one by Stuart Mitchell in England, and the second one is a Gene Ingram slimbone.

I thought that looked like a Gene Ingram logo/mark on the second knife. I had just never seen an Ingram with that handle shape.

Great knives stuartyr! A Gene Ingram #6 is on my short list. Prbably right after my wife cools down, which will be after my first custom arrives some time after January. I'm thinkin' somewhere around May... if I'm lucky :p:D.

Not as pretty as some of your guys', but these two get all the use, along with a wallyworld special hatchet that helps me with any chopping needs I have.

I've already posted this one a few times, but it applies to this thread. I took this on an 8-day backpacking trip, this is what I had with me.

I posted this one a while back, but it is still what I am carrying most days. Not shown is the Spyderco Paramilitary that has been my main EDC folder this year.

I've got some new ones waiting for me when I arrive home tomorrow (haven't been home in two months)... so the above EDC may be modified slightly...

Hi Stingray, I'm curious about that sheath mate, it looks like it is made just by cutting and folding a piece of leather with no stitching to it??

Do you have any directions on how to do it? :)

I also EDC a SAK, Leatherman Wave and a (Swamp Rat) Rat Trap.

River, those are the best looking Busse knives I've ever seen posted.

Those are about as far from "SafeQueen" condition as one can get. The way a knife like a Busse should look.

Dam
Busse knives , with signs of having being used :)
That is something good to see !

So Cliff - it was you who nabbed that highlander from DLT's closeouts! About a month ago I had my VISA out and was ready to order it a day after spotting it and low and behold it was gone! Sounds like it is a winner!

I like Fobus, good stuff. What's a box of 9x18's running these days? And hows that trigger pull?

Oh, (to keep on topic), what's the blade length of that larger Busse?
