Did you do the jimping on the back of the Endura's blade? If so, how did you do it?

You mean the thing on the thumbrest next to the opening hole? It's still the same needle file, diamond coated. I think that one was done with a triangular crossection needle file. First make notches on one side of the blade, keeping the distance between them even. Then being very careful to keep the file straight and perpendicular to the spine of the blade start cutting towards the other side. I tried making notches on both sides, but it actually made it a little harder to keep the file straight. And when it's done try to make all the cuts the same depth/width.

I guess it could have been done with a Dremel tool with a cutting disc bit on it, but I just don't have the rock-solid control on those things, so I prefer to do it all just with needle files by hand. Diamond-coated files work best, plain steel wears down much too fast and takes too long to cut good steel.

Common Vess, show us your artwork you do in holsters! Vess makes very cool holsters for Spyderco knives!

VESS, love the work! I just check out your website and realized I bought a sheath from you already for my Karambit. Everyone, you gotta try his stuff. The leather fits so well, it retains the knife great without the techie kydex.
VESS, I just emailed you.

Oh man guys. I just got my upgraded Salt 1 back from Sherry Abraham and it is fantastic. You just can't beat the warmth of wood. Any of you guys using wood for handle scales really need to keep her link in your favorites. www.checkering.com This is fantastic craftsmanship right here. I think it takes the knife to a whole new level of class and distinction. Scott, you lookin' at this?

Thanks Sherry this is just awesome.

Oh I'm looking.;)

It's gonna be a tough decision for me. I like the polish of the wood now, and I'm afraid checkering will take away from that look. Definitely thinking about it though...

She doesn't have to do the full scale. Just small patterns would be enough to add tackyness and looks while still retaining the natural beauty of that Ironwood.
