Damn, how hard did you have to stab that log with the firesteel?

Your a badass!:D

LOL, I think he learned that from the school of Chuck Norris. When he graduates he'll be able to just look at the wood and it'll split itself.

Nice set up Fabian, I've got the same thing except I've got the RC-6 instead of the firesteel.

I like this one very much. How is it done? Looks like the paracord has been gutted, correct?

Thanks. It actually isn't gutted; I just wrapped it very, very tightly. It's a simple wrap (the same pictured on most of the Izulas here and I believe the one shown in the instructions), but I tied off the tag ends before they reached the pinkie-hole in order to preserve the usefulness of having the large hole in the end of the handle.

Well its not paracord and its not pretty but here is what I have. Using the soft banding that we have from incomming shipments. I strip the nylon string out of the bands and braid it to make a reasonably strong string.

Here's a couple snaps of my wrap job. I went though 5 or 6 wrap attempts before I got happy. I tried everything I'd seen or could find instructions for before I got creative. I'm anal and wanted the wrap to look identical from either side. Most of the wrap methods have a show side and then the back. I couldn't stand it. I preferr the look of the weave wraps versus the open one I have settled on, but I couldn't come up with a weave style that kept both sides the same. -Before the headache set in anyway.

They take on a whole new feel with some cord around them.

LIKE IT !!!:D

PS. I forgot about the pinky ring. I like it. Someone had one setup on this forum way back and I tried it on this wrap. It's a GREAT IDEA. If you're using it where you don't want to drop it it's an awesome little helper.

Mine's pretty short and tight on the pinky so you can drop it, then just flip your wrist and the knife comes back up into your hand. To "store" the loop, I just fold the loop over the braded shaft and it stays out of the way nicely.

Great thread. Lots of cool wraps out there.
