Borrowing sixmoon`s awesome wrap, question for you guys:

I`ll try to make this as clear as possible. With the traditional esee weaving instructions shown here:
http://www.eseeknives.com/esee-izula-sheet-back.pdf

According to the instruction, how did esee manage to do a square knot? Reason being is that you can only do the those knots if both ends of the cords are coming off the opposite sides of the tang.

The only way I can bring the other end on the opposite side is by doing a loop on the backside on the top before the hole as shown in sixmoon`s pic.

I did one row to illustrate that with the weaving directions according to the instructions, both ends come off the same side of the tang

Finally figured out a place to stick my little Atwood bead.

I don't have a very good camera, but I really like my wrap. If you can't see it well, I have taken the loose ends of the paracord that comes with the survival kit and put them into the handle in the "x" pattern over the knot so they kind of loop between the cord wrap and a wall of the pommel... Or whatever that circle is.

I didn't really like the loose ends sticking out, but I didn't want to cut it. I really like it because it makes a weird pattern to put my pinky finger in when using it.

My only big issues it that I had to pull the wrap really tight to have enough length at the end to do this.

I use 6 feet and always come out with about 18in of extra, part of it used for sheath lashing to belt, rest for lanyard

you can do it only like you said, with the loop before the hole, or you can do like i did, tying two knots , and making a rat with two tails :D
sure there are other ways, but these days, my Izula stays all naked :D
