Lets see your paracord wrapped Izula!

OK, seriously, I have been wanting to post pics of my ESEE's for some time now. I just got a photo sharing acct. Anyways, here's my wrapped Izula. Today I stripped it, and am wrapping it black. Photos will eventually follow.

Great work here and really motivated me to do mine but on the standard wrap the two ends seem to come up on the same side of the circle at the end of the knife so I can't tie it off around the steel of the ring like many of you did. Do you have to change the pattern of one side when you transition from the main part of the handle to the ring?

Hope that makes sense

Thanks

Bob

I had that problem at one point too. The solution is simple, but not totally obvious at first.

You just need to take one end of it and start wrapping it the other way on the loop. For example, if you have both ends pointing the same direction inside the loops, they will meet on the same side, and you will have the same problem.

As long as one end is going through the loop and one ISN'T, they will coil around the loop and finish on opposite sides for you to tie a finishing knit :)

Edit: I just read that again, and if it's not totally clear I'll try and find a picture to demonstrate what I'm trying to say :D

Here is how I did it on my initial wrap, you basically just have to find any way you can that looks good to your eye to get the ends going in opposite directions around the ring. It may be hard to make out in the picture, but the two ends come out of the center section on the same side, and one goes straight into the ring part while the other loops back around the outside of the handle and up the other side of the ring (if that makes sense).

Ok, now I have to go order an Izula just to get to post in this thread :D

Awesome wraps in this thread :)

Finally made it to the end of the thread. Lots of good work here.

Thanks for all the great wraps!

just wrapped in normal orange paracord. I have enough length on the end to put my pinky through and then the little clamp thing that comes in the izula pack on the end.

Here's my first attempt of the standard wrap and a Martin's Sheath

I liked it when I did it but after a day in the yard doing chores around the homestead this weekend this will be the last light colored wrap I'll do. Nasty dirty and I think I spent more time cleaning it than I could have rewrapped it.
