Lets see your Patinas!

Hasn't really changed much lately, but here is how my peanut looks this morning.

I just forced a light patina on my new SFO #85 Easy Open. The area I reside in gets very wet and humid, so I like to force a light patina using lime juice on my new keepers.

Pipedreams, looks like my 1/2 congress will wear in nicely, judging by your fine example.

Who knows how many years of patina this beauty has?

Traditional, English billhook made by Cornelius and whitehouse! I did give this one a referb by cleaning up the almost black surface rust before oiling it mind.. so it had obviously been used heavily and not kissed good night! :D

A few pics of the same knife. It's hard to capture the patina in a photo. It's sort of a blue/red/purple iridescent effect.

These were taken at different times so the patina is evolving. All of it was from cutting fruits of one type or another, most often apples. Banana peels create a very black instant patina but it wipes off.

I bought this gorgeous Queen made stag handled Winchester and decided it would not be a safe queen. Here is a before and after shot, with a gorgeous patina being brought on by chopping ingredients for a homemade salsa. This one is well earned.

Old threads never die... My EO Sunfish. I love this thing, even more with the patina forming... Sitting on top of another obsession, contemporary ceramics, this one by Paul Dresang.
