Let's see your Peanuts & their Patinas

I've been enjoying seeing everyone's peanuts evolving, Jon I really like that Damascus stag peanut very nice, can't seem to find a damascus nut for sale, I think next time I buy a new knife, I'm gonna add a yellow nut to the collection.
My nut is in a constant state of flux, constantly changing, here it is today.

The penblade hasn´t seen that much use... but soon it will be that way like the clipblade..

Kind regards
Andi

Looking good Andi, mrrampro nice nuts, I like the shield that Case uses on the yellow knives.
Andi I pretty much convexed my peanuts pen blade, I tend to use it for whittling and ruff stuff, and use my clip more for food and gutting fish and such.
I tried to take some pics but it was hard to capture on my phone, someday I'll buy a camera.

My son used it to slice some peaches last night for an after dinner treat, and here is how it looks this afternoon.

Nice rainbow colors on that blade Doug
Mrrampro how's the chestnut treating you? Every time I see a yellow or a stag Damascus I want a new peanut.
I just can't bump my chestnut out of my pocket though, it has served me well.

My peanut gets used often, I touch it up using a ultra fine stone by hand and finish with my leather belt, just finished, both edges are convexed.

In between sharpenings, the convexed edges are easy to maintain on leather.

Chestnut bone is mine, yeller is my son's.

Hey Doug, your sons peanut is coming along nicely, it's nice to see the younger men carrying something other than a spyderco, how does he like it ?, and does he have any other slipjoints?

Thanks Pete. Here is what I replied to Carl over in the cult of the peanut thread, when he commented that it looked like he was putting it to good use.

"Thank you! He is indeed.

I asked him about a knife I could get for him with the year of his birth stamped on the tang. He said he didn't need anything but his yeller peanut."

His only other folder is an Opinel (#8, I think). He also has a Mora sheath knife. He does like the carbon blades!

Thank you for those kind words. We have had a great friendship for years, sharing many interests. Now that he is halfway through college and living on his own most of the year, we really are becoming more like peers, two adult friends. It is something we both enjoy.

Damascus develops patina with rainbow colors easily. And wiping the blade with leather creates silver highlights on the harder wires. Fun stuff. You maybe can see the pen blade is darker, I have not been wiping it down as often.

With the arrival today of the Sears Craftsman peanut, I now have three peanut style knives. Camillus 22 pony jack, Case 6220 peanut, Sears Craftsman 95041 peanut.

The order is just the opposite in the second picture: Sears, Case, Camillus.

Very nice Doug, is that Sears Schrade made? Looks sturdy.

Just read your other post Doug, you already answered my question.
:-)

Looks like it is actually made by Camillus, not Schrade. So two thirds of my peanut collection is from the same manufacturer.

I figure today's a good day to update my peanuts patina, seeing as Vanguard blamed Doug & I for his recent purchase:-)
I cleaned up the brass and gave the blades a few swipes on the back of my belt, and some mineral oil to the scales.

Here's the old peanut my father used to own. He is the one that put on the earned patina. I still carry it from time to time but it is valuable since he passed away two years ago.
