Lets see your PURSES gentleman

I carry a semi-custom Tactical Man Bag.

Inside I carry a S&W 4513, extra magazines, a Sony Vaio laptop, A Surefire M3, Surefire L4, Inova X5, SOG power pliers, an RF detector, a Wi-Fi detector, two Motorola T720 phones, an HP 2215 PDA, a Canon Powershot Digital camera, a Strider SnG, and a bunch or assorted odds and ends.

To and from work: Blackhawk 3-Day Assualt Pack(black)

Work: FedEx Cordura courier bag(No where near as good as a bike messenger courier bag. The velcro is done now, but the fabric is still holding up after almost 4 years of constant use.) I carry mine left swing...

Motorcycle: Timbuk2 Cordura DeeDog & a canvas El Ocho(left swing)

EasE, all the New Sun stuff is well made and designed, very sturdy. I find the Omnibag comfortable but don't carry it on a bike of for long periods, really. Good padding and great orginazation with lots of capacity, though.

I'll eventually get myself a Filson Padded Briefcase, their gear is outstanding and, as you said, classy.

Good Evening All-

Yup, it's that ongoing search for the elusive "PERFECT" bag that seems to drive all of us. I pretty much use these three, depending on loadout and environment:

The Tumi is used when I'm walking around in the city and need a bag that can carry a bunch of stuff yet still look presentable during the evening. Mine differs from the one pictured in that it comes in ballistic nylon with a carry handle on the top. Tumi is a great company, they have rebuilt this bag over the years as it gets worn. Great guarantee.

The Camelbak M.U.L.E. is generally used for dayhikes and mountainbiking. Depending on range, I might even combine it with the smaller Ultimate Direction fannypack. Huge water capacity with lots of handy mesh or zippered pockets for knives, flashlights, energy bars, etc.

The Wilderness Safepacker has lots of utility. It is a common companion in the woods and moutain trails. Plenty of protection for a sidearm with acceptable draw speed. The thing can mount to darn near anything. Generous amounts of straps, velcro, and buckles.

Hope that helps y'all...

That Filson stuff is top-notch! I was gonna look into Sungear, but I got worried I was gonna buy something... ;)I'm still a fan of Timbuk2, even though I don't currently own any of there stuff. Their new line of stuff is pretty nice. I have only one more piece of carry gear to get, and that is a vest. The wilderness holster is nice! Tumi makes a really nice vest with padding in the shoulders and back for comfort when you carry stuff, and a bunch of useful pockets:

I really love Tumi stuff, but the only thing I have is a wallet, as Tumi stuff really isn't too inexpenxsive

Keep 'em comin' guys!:)

Maxpedition Fatboy here. I just couldn't believe how much stuff I can fit in there!
Matt

I carry the Fatboy in Black and my wife refers to it as a "Murse". I prefer fieldbag. I carry a Surefire G2 in the outside sheath, a multitool in the other and pens in the slots. I have 10 feet of paracord, a firestarter, a compass, a monocular, and various odds and ends in the main compartment. I keep a small notebook in the smaller outside pocket and a few first aid items such as a pocket mask and bandages in the inside pocket.

Here are some scans. Not great scans as 3D objects don't scan well. Full of stuff:

And the load out in the main pocket:

There's usually a CMG infinity ultra in there for general lighting use, but it's taken the spousal evaporation route. The tan pouch is the first aid/survival items.

The front pocket holds the money and cards. There is a mesh pocket too for the less often used cards like insurance and such.

I carry either my Chrome bag, my Timbuk2 or my Mountainsmith Tour. 3 different sizes, sometimes, more than one at a time, sometimes one inside another. My wife gives me no end of grief about it, ie. "I don't know why you have to carry so much stuff with you all the time." I've just started doing the bag-in-a-bag system and it's nice when you have the really big compartments.

Later,

Rob

While we can have a good bit of fun with this
subject (I carry a leather waist kit pack)there is
a more serious side to consider.

That side is.......
In todays world what you carry on you may mean the
difference in your ability to survive a terrorist
attack or natural disaster.

With that thought in mind I ignore all the mindless
comments I get about my kits from those folk's who
are more worried about "fashion"( :barf: )

Mine is by L.L. Bean (picture attached)...mine's navy colored (not "royal") and monogrammed.

I also have a small, classy, zippered leather pouch (about 6"x4"x1.5") to carry medications (which I need with me at all times). I paid way too much for it about 10 years ago, but it was very much worth the $40 and still in nearly perfect condition. I'll try to post a picture later.

Phatch, thanks for the pics, nice setup!
Ron, that is a nice pouch. I will take a pic of my bag in bag with lots of pouches setup I roll around with in my Pac bag at work.
Tightwad, I really just dislike the word fanny pack. It reminds me of tourists and neon colors. I don't know what your kit bag looks like, but it is a matter ofpersonal taste. I'm fascinated by everyone's choice in carry-all. I am lucky enough to have a job that let's me wear WHATEVER I want to, even though we spend a lot of time in office environments. My personal STYLE, is "prepared for ANYTHING", and I think it's really cool how everyone blends there gear in with their environment- or doesn't even bother. It amazes me when friends are in need of things that I(and I think a lot of forumites) consider EDC, and I see(sadly) that some people don't even give a second thought to being prepared. I have ceased to let anyone I work with use ANY of my knives because [as I proclaimed to them] after hanging out on the same block at work for 2 years, and always being asked to use a knife by the same people, the ability to learn woulda kicked in and fools would CARRY A KNIFE WITH THEM! It's funny too how I'm always the guy with band-aids, paracord, etc., yet everyone is carrying messenger bags! What kind of crap do they carry? Nuthin' useful in a disasterous situation as far as I'm concerned. Feels good to get that out and see like-minded people's kit bags, man purses, tactical man bags and fanny packs. Keep 'em comin' y'all!:)

What companies make good fixed gear bikes? Ones that don't cost the price of a used motorcycle...

Surly, Sycip, Trackbikesource.com, DON'T get a Bianchi PISTA:barf: It's the cycling equivalent of buying a Smith & Wesson knife (although the HRT Darrel Ralph designed is a decret favorite of mind). I take my cycling as seriously as my knives... ;) :D

And I thought I was the only one with a bag fetish! I have a few bags that I use. My main bag I use for work is an LA Rescue waist pack. I work as a Paramedic and refuse to wear the multi pocket geek pants that my co-workers wear. I may not use the stuff in my pack for weeks but it is there when I need it.
I too am on the endless quest for the perfect bag. It looks like Maxpedition may have ended my search. EasE can you tell me if your fatboy (I think thats what its called). Does it have a grab handle or just a shoulder strap? How else makes bags other than the ones you all have talked about? And who has the best prices on Maxpedition gear.
www.buyemp.com is an EMS dealer. But, you can check out the LA Rescue line if you need no nonsense bags cheap with a LifeTime warranty.

doomonyou, There is no carrying handle on the Fatboy, If you want something with a carrying handle, the Proteus Versipak is a good pick IMO. Maxpedition stuff is sold at the MSRP just about everywhere (which was mentioned in another thread). It's cool how I haven't seen ANY price fluctuations, just straight up prices everywhere. I got mine from www.tadgear.com as well as their OS1 sheath(another fine piece of carry gear) to carry my LM wave horizontaly. The OS1 is really nice because it is very low profile and EXTREMELY well made. The only drawback is that the LM fits so well in there, it is dificult to pull it out, but I solved that by putting a pull tab from one of my jackets on the lanyard hole. :)
