Lets see your PURSES gentleman

That is the ONLY change I would make to the Fatboy - the addition of a carry handle. I have a friend of mine who is a seemstress and I am going to ask her to make me one to be added to the Fatboy. I am sure that it will be helpful.

DPS

PS- other than that, this is one great bag. I was wondering - what length does everyone carry theirs? I wear my fairly long and I am considering taking up some of the length and shortening the strap. Any thoughts?

It's probably too big to qualify, but I have a Dana Design Emerald City pack. I can carry a good bit of stuff, as well as a laptop if I want.

A more manly alternative to a purse is a 5.11 or similar vest.

I carry my Fatboy kinda short to prevent flopping around with my gait. I like my bags really close to my body for security. Oddly enough, I just thought about a conversation my and another messenger buddy had where we agreed that we ALWAYS had to have a bag with us; it's like a security blanket thing.:D
Geraldo, NO BAG is too big or to little to qualify- it's like knives
;) and if you're talkin' about the ScottE vest, those things are AWESOME! do you have one? Can yuo post pics of your bag and vest?

I have a black Thermite Versipack!!! Great piece of gear. I carry it on my hip. WELL worth the money!

I guess I'll fess up: My name is enkidu and I carry a man bag. I always carry a "tactical man bag" strapped to my left wrist and held in my left hand. It's a discontinued model from Tumi. Approximately 8.75"x6"x1.5" with a strap handle, one central zippered chamber, 2 slim zippered compartments and one expandable+lockable flap money area. Contains in random order:
  • Handera 330 Palm PDA (Nickname "Munin")
  • Princeton Tec Rage flashlight
  • Victorinox Cybertool 34 SAK
  • LM Squirt EL multitool
  • 6" steel ruler
  • butane high temp lighter
  • Ti Mini-prybar (Thanks to RWClark)
  • Clip on Sunglasses in slim hard case
  • Etymotic EL-20 earplugs in plastic case
  • The usual cash, cards, ID, business cards, receipts, etc.
And kindly do not call it a "purse". It's a man bag, thank you. BTW, I'm thinking of dropping the lighter for a mini-torch and adding a set of Wiha micro bits and a mini-tape measure. Someone here must agree that I'm not nuts. Or maybe I am :)

For the curious, my EDC knife is in my right rear pocket.

EasE, my vest is a Royal Robbins 5.11, now marketed under 5.11 Tactical. I used to have a Woolrich vest, which I liked much more, but I lost a lot of weight and it no longer fit. Do you have a link for the vest you mentioned?

I'll try and get a pic of my shocking orange Dana up later.

Geraldo, my roomate actually just got a 5.11 tactical shirt! I can't believe I didn't recognize the numbers... I'm waiting to see if the black shirt fades badly before I get a few myself. The link to the vest is here. I'm torn between getting that vest or a custom job from here.

Samsonite bag... Executive Softside Series, Expandable Business Satchel

http://ca.samsonite.com/webapp/ca/s...productId=90820&storeId=10051&langId=1&pc=C30

picked it up for considerably less than they list for a price, office depot had a stock clearance right after xmas and I paid $5CAD :D...

Wear it over my shoulder, strap as long as it gets. Puts the handle on the top at the same level as my pants pocket. Right shoulder to left side. Personally I prefer shoulder bags to backpacks. Easier to take off.

Soon moving my BOB stuff over to it, just have work stuff in it, and it's got lots of space still without unzipping the espansion zipper. Unzipped it holds more than the bag I used for school and that bag was 30lbs daily.

I use ziplock bags for my BOB stuff, easier to find bags and maybe pull 3-4 out to find something than search for little things. Right now I use an aluminum briefcase style toolbox for BOB, and toss clothing in a backpack.

Have a good breifcase that I use when I need to carry paperwork(like when I was doing a resume run a year ago). Used one for grade 12 too, but it was my dad's old one.

Guys;

Will the Maxpedition Thermite Versipack hold a Glock 27 in a small holster?

I like that pack, and if the Glock will fit in there, I'll buy one.

Also, if anyone has similar info on the Maxpedition M-4, I'd appreciate it.

I can easily fit my Sig 230 with a Galco IWB holster into the Thermite, so your 27 should be no issue, depending on holster. You'll have to decide what to do with the draw string rain flap.

The M4 is a good 1" shorter than the Thermite, and my Kel-Tec P3 AT easily fits in there. But, there's no rain flap, just the main flap, so it's easy to accidentally expose some part of the weapon, if you can get it in there. Hope this helps.

Tony you got a pic of your setup?
Better late than never.

For EDC: Maxpedition Condor with a M2 and a M4 on the right side, and a Pug wallet on the waist strap. I have another set of M2/M4 for the left, as well as the Proteus for the front, if I needed more room.

 Damn Tony... NICE!

Code 3, I'm pretty sure the Glock 27 will fit nicely in a holster, in a thermite. Great choice by the way! I really like the 27 and am looking to have that be my second Glock, after the 35.:D

Vampyrewolf, I have liked samsonite stuff ever since I was in 4th grade. I'm into Tumi more now, but ALWAYS check out all samsonite stuff I come across.

You know, come to think of it, whenever I come across a luggage store, I always drag my GF into it and start checking out luggage... between knife, bike, luggage, and food places, I never get anything done on an 'outing' except irritating my GF...;)

EasEWryder(why couldn't you have chosen an easy name to spell, like "bob" or "joe" :P) :

I love carrying stuff that doesn't get odd looks. I can clean up quite nicely, so a briefcase for me looks normal. The samsonite bag looks as much at home in an office as it does walking around the city. The advantage to shoulder bags is that I can still carry a backpack without it interfering with my carry of either.

Should see what I have in it right now for work... I've got to find more bags before I toss my BOB stuff into it from the toolbox, but I'll get a pic of my work stuff a little later.

Thanks.

I missed the rain flap, so it looks like I'll consider the M-4 instead. I really don't want to fiddle with the rain flap, and I'm not really concerned if someone catches a peek of the gun when I open the pack.

Time to order!

I have also a Maxpedition Condor with a M2 and a M4 on the right side, but now i don't like it any more and i think i will change it.
Do u have any good sugestions for me, i want a very good one?

Hi Zanucelbun. You might wanna try the Arcteryx Rt35 to 55, which ever size you need. :) Oh yeah, one last good suggestion... If your M2 is black...

...send it my way :p :D
