Lets see your puukkos!

I'm a big fan of and I plan to make some scandi's / puukko's here in the near future. This is the only one I have and it is the sharpest knife I have ever received. Helle Harding.

attej, are those blades available in the US?

I doubt anyone imports these blades to the US, but Im not 100% sure. Theyre all hand-made from scratch, forged, grinded and hardened by one guy, so I dont think there's enough of these around to be widely available. The only source is propably the smith himself. Did you check out his web site (linked it on post #58)?

The blade I used was the "T5" from this page.

Oh, I'm NOWHERE NEAR insane enough to make folders. STR made the folder, it's the BUSTR model. I just happen to be fortunate enough to be making blades for them. I'm very impressed with Steve's work on the folders.

I had been looking for the 'right' folder for me for a few months when I ran across the thread in his maker's forum and it was instant love. (for the knife) - one problem was he had a limited supply of the cobbler blades. So I offered to make a few thicker blades, and this is the result.

Only folding puukko style I'm ever likely to need!

mneedham,

is that guard spring loaded? Kinda seems like it may be when i went to the site

Yes it is. The guard neatly folds into the handle when you put it in the sheath (helps secure the knife too..) and opens when drawn.

Here's my Brusletto collection that I recently posted on "Bernard Levine's Knife Collecting & Identification." I apologize for the poor picture quality, I took the pictures with my phone.

This collection was put together by Brusletto as a limited edition to celebrate the millennium. Each knife is meant to represent a significant era: viking, middle ages, renaissance, present, and future.
