Just thought this would be an interesting thing to do,here's my 2 (710 and 962):

Notice the 962 looks alot like the Benchmade Vex?

Awesome looking blade,I'm thinking of getting the Micarta version (even if it does look like a Benchmade Ares)

Here are a couple I played with a few months back after buying them to check them out after reading about them. The modified 939 model is a fine user now compared to when it arrived although for the money I'd say it is a fine knife as is if you don't mind tip down carry. Obviously I could not live with that on either the 939 or the 710. Ended up selling the 710 shown here and to a forum member. I have a new one now in camo with a similar clip. Personally I think these are great beater knives if you ask me.

Very cool mods! I like the stock 939 except for the crazy pocket clip

Ahh the Cherusker Messer Lapu Lapu copy,cool looking knife I used to own the K-507

Every screw in the thing was loose enough to turn by finger and there was blade play in every direction.

Disassembled it and cleaned it up (heads-up, Navy uses brass washer that are clearly punched out, so they have a smooth side and a side with rough edges/burrs, either put the smooth side in toward the blade or clean up the tooling to make the knife smoother to open). Then put it back together with lock-tite and a little CLP on the pivot. Blade play no more and opens smoother (should get smoother yet with break in).

Seems like a nice knife for the money so far, we’ll see how it holds up.

I've heard nothing but good about these,what's your opinion in it?

I love manual flippers, so I had to try one out. For $20 shipped (what I paid), it is a surprisingly nice knife. Solid feel, thick skeletonized liners, no blade play, and it flips open nicely. I haven't put it to any hard use, so I can't say how it will hold up.

Here's what I picked up over the past year (before switching to collecting the awesomeness known as Kershaw.) These are great knives for the money. I've made several knife-less friends happy with one. My favorites are the 710, 723, and the Bee L05.

Nice collection,lets see if I can name what these copy

710 = Small Sebenza
962 = Benchmade Vex
723 = Buck Nobleman
728 = Boker Magnum Folder
908 = Similar to a CRKT
704 = Emerson Mini A100 or Buck Strider 880
939 = Kershaw Vapor 2
909 = Timberline Workhorse
604 and 605 = Buck Stider 880 (shrunken versions)
L03 = Microtech Terzuola 300631-11 (similar)

And the rest seem to be fairly original designs

A nice collection. The only one I have is a Sanrenmu 710. It is well made, and I especially like the frame lock. However, it is too small to be very useful for me, but I like its design and workmanship.
I am thinking about buying another for a gift to a friend.

Regards,
Jerry

is it really though? the 939 for example, is a stainless steel framelock with holes in the handle, like the Vapor II. But the handle is a different shape, the blade is a different shape, and the holes are in a different pattern.
I mean look for yourself, is it really fair to say one is a copy of the other?

Still seems like a clone to me but don't get me wrong I love SRM knives even if they do copy other designs.

The 723 (or one if its siblings) and the 728 are clearly the same knives which are branded over here as western knives. It's well known that these are made in china and that SRM is a popular outsourcer. These are not clones but the same product. There is also an entry level Fox which you can find as an SRM.

2 knives that are clearly "inspired by" western designs: the 702 which is very close to a certain elegant Klotzli model, and the 613 which is inspired by Mcusta money clip knives.

For me the 939 is an original design. Holes in the handle doesn't make it a clone. Don't agree about the 704 either.

Dagon I love your YT videos and yes I know that they outsource for Kershaw,CRKT,Benchmade,Spyderco,Colt,Uzi and many many more companies but it does NOT give them the right the use the designs,between the Buck 880 ,the Emrerson Mini A100 and the Sanrenmu 704 there's no denying the design is pretty much the same

here's a good question, is that buck/strider 880 a copy of the emerson mini a100?

The Sanremu 704 was a gift a few years back hen you purchased a certain Fenix light. I had one and was surprised at how well it was made , copy aside.
