here's a good question, is that buck/strider 880 a copy of the emerson mini a100?

I don't think so,the SRM takes characteristics from both the Buck and the Emerson and combines them while the Buck and the Emerson themselves seem to be 2 different designs.

I like the Sanrenmus. Since I am not broke I must be cheap. But I grew up hearing that a fool and his money are soon parted. One is not a fool for obtaining some nice things, but my own needs do not justify the price of many of the fine US knives. It would be a case for me that I parted with my money too soon.

If one is offended by knock offs then don't buy one. However some of us will buy what we want anyway.

Regards,
Jerry

Yeak SRM and those are about the same. I wouldn't own any of them. I'm not that cheap or broke that I have to buy knock off junk.

Thats okay, if it makes you feel better about yourself to insult other peoples knives on the internet, go for it!

To the other SRM knife guys, great pics.

I think Im going to buy a black 710.

The 939 is my favorite

What's the second one with the hole opener? I like the look of that one.

Perhaps typo, it's Enlan EL02.

Yes, that's an Enlan EL02 with the micarta handle. I wish the omega springs were a bit weaker, the operating of the axis lock would be much easier. My next project is to replace the springs with weaker ones.

IOW, you have no idea what you're talking about.

At least knarfeng's pointless contribution to this thread doesn't rely on ignorance.

After some breaking in & callouses grew on my thumb & index finger pad :), now it is as smooth as my SRM 763. The contributing stiffness is the tang area that's not smooth & increase friction with lockbar & the lockbar vs slot/hole on the frame. After some wearing in (multiple oil & soap wash), it smoothen out by itself.

Spring is strong, I'd suggest not replacing it, given the size of blade (higher torque) if pressure put on the spine.

Yesterday as an experiment I removed one of the omega springs of the lock. The action felt much smoother at least for my tortured thumb and index fingers. :D I will check out whether the original BM omega springs are interchangable with the Enlan ones. Until I give a bit healing time for my finger pads. :)

Has anyone managed to disassemble this knife completly yet? I can't figure out how to remove the axis from the liners...

Shouldn't the axis be screwed off? Seems to have notch for flat screwdriver ...

I also 'sand down' the sharp edges of the axis using victorinox pcket sharpener. It'stough stuff, able to wear the sharpener fast !
