Let's see your Traditional Case knives, old to new.

I own many Case knives and I am pleased with their F&F for the most part. So Case has double X for double tempered. What if they came out with Case double checked. Charge 30% more and have a guarantee that they double checked the fit and finish on the knife before it leaves the factory. Of course some other slight different scale options. A more premium knife above the regular but below a Tony Bose. Would we pay for that as a consumer?

Double checking before a product is shipped is too late. Quality is built in, not added on at the end. It’s too late at the end. Quality is also not perfection or zero defects, it’s a matter of degree.

Wasn't supposed to arrive until next week, look what was in the mailbox today...

Same impression others have had. Same issue with slight gapping backspring/ liners. Blade had some slight roughness near the tip, only took a few seconds to knock off the burrs. Only issues with mine seem to be a machining mark on the tang (no big deal, this is not a collectable), and the blade tip is almost proud when closed (I might adjust the kick a slight bit). I can almost catch skin when running my finger over the knife from the butt. Otherwise, F&F and W&T are pretty nice.

Not a huge fan of the Trapper pattern, a bit too long and thin for my tastes. Usually. Digging the single blade, green micarta, and satin blade finish.
For what it’s worth HercDude, mine had a minor case of blade rap that I noticed after a day of enjoying that action. Put a new edge on it and it’s fine. Just thinking there may not be much room to adjust the kick before developing another issue.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Where on the blade was it hitting, if you don't mind me asking?

Not at all, right above the center pin

I was wondering if that was the spot - noticed that area looked a little higher. Will probably hold of adjusting anything until it's been sharpened enough I start catching finger skin.

Also - what did you use to round the micarta edges? Just an extra fine grit sandpaper? I still have some 600, 800, and 1500 grit left over from some past projects.

I started with 600 then used some 1200 and then even touched it off with some 3000. The 3000 probably wasn’t necessary, but it did put a very smooth finish on it.

Thanks. Haven't decided if I'm going to do that yet. Mine doesn't really feel too bad as-is, IMHO.
