Let's see your Traditional Case knives, old to new.

I say BETTER!!! ;)
John :)
In my limited experiences…
CASE w/t is like a jazz singer and their dyes like butterflies.
GECs are more R&R and cars.
Although they are different… I do enjoy them both.

Wow, this is a real looker! Great catch! Very slim profile because of the blade array.
Thank you kindly my friend :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:
This era and pattern are somewhat grails for me and it seems between the mid 70s & 1980 they do get thicker, yet still do retain their awesome qualities.

When I run across the Case Chestnut I grab them. An antique mall find today, 1997 Case Eisenhower 06263SS with jigged Chestnut bone handles. This one is NOS, factory edges, great W&T, with only a light scratch or two on the bolsters (I can polish them out pretty easily). I also like the mid-late 1990’s Case with the block shields. Dark and overcast day so you don’t get the full color of the Chestnut. OH

You mean in regards to the thickness of the scales? Thinking back to the ones I used to own, that does seem to be the case, no pun intended. What you always get with newish knives from that era as well are metal shavings between the backspring and the liners, always a joy to pick those out.

Yes to thickness, and a tad longer as well. No shavings on this particular one.
If there were any though, easy-peasy at a pal’s car shop with roughly 160 lbs of compressed air doing the trick.

Gorgeous trapper Ed. I recently picked up a Case Bose also, the Norfolk. It was a sweetheart deal from John. I now fully understand the hype! 😊
Thanks and congrats Todd !!
Yes the hype is real and even though it hurts me to say this but if I could only have one traditional it would be with out a doubt one of my Case Bose collaborations .

I recently bought a knife from @JohnDF, not a Case so it won’t be in this thread, but in typical John fashion he included a surprise. This is a gorgeous 70s era Dogleg Jack. Perfect F&F and fantastic W&T. I’m really liking these older Case knives. Thanks so much John! 😊👍View attachment 1762845
