(sorry for the scratches on my decrepit old scanner!!)

Pomegranate, Cherries & Strawberries! Oh My!!! 😂
What amazing matched sets with all the different dye color tones! 🤯
You never sease to amaze us Charlie waynorth waynorth ! 😎

waynorth waynorth , those old Cases are amazing examples!
This is my only Red-Bone Case, I was able to get it from a generous member here on the porch that was willing to let it go. This was a grail type knife for me. It just reminds me of being on the water with family.
My Grandfather was in the U.S. Navy long before I was born. I always respected him for that & some of the stories he would tell. Him & my dad were big fisherman as well, so we had three generations casting a line out & spending time together. I'm so glad to have those memories. Everything from Bream, Bass & Catfish in small ponds all the way up to overnight trips deepsea fishing.

Thanks for not only educating us on all the history but having great examples to go with it!

Charlie, what is the oldest Case knife that you remember buying new, that you still have?
Buying new?? What's that???
I was always reaching back for historical knives, before my time!!
Still do it that way!
😁
When the Seahorse whittlers came out 2000ish, I bought several new! The classic wharncliffe whittler details really got me!!
Here's a 2003!!! (my scanner was already scratched up!!)

Such a great example! I like the Case versions of these marlin spikes because the joint on the spike is sunken. Many manufacturers have a very proud (??) joint on the marlin spike. Yours is gorgeous!! Such a useful pattern for when I'm out on the canoe.

Thanks L lithicus !!!
This is definitely one they need to bring back out of their vault!!!

P.S. I'm not taking this one out on my kayak or the water in general. Y'all know the old saying. Don't bring anything on a boat you're not prepared to lose! 😬😉

I didn't know they were making a one-blade 47!!?? Interesting!!
It's from 2002. I believe it's from a set Case called the Double X slimline series. It consisted of 6 (I think, maybe more) different patterns all released as a single blade knives & all in this antique jigged bone. I know there was also a Sowbelly 6139, a peanut 6120, large stockman 6175, med stockman 6118, and single wharncliffe blade mini trapper 6107W. That's all I can remember. Hope this helps.

There's actually a thread here on BF where someone was asking about the double x slimline series. Turns out there was 7 different knives in that set.
