I'm really happy with both of these knives. I think they'll be my go-to knives for the long, hot Summer that has already started here!

Nice pics, Al. Looks like you have it covered with those two.
I've got a Back Pocket like that on order, due to arrive Monday. I hope it's as nice as those I've seen posted recently, including yours.
I think Case hit it out of the park with both those patterns. Having Mr. Bose on board was definitely a good business decision.

Thanks, Gary! I agree

Yes, particularly like the bone and overall dimensions of that Tribal Lock, not too big for extended carry. Excellence in operation

Thanks, Will

Those are both excellent, Al!

1970 was a good year for Case (not so much for collectors on a budget though). It began the era of dating knives by year which led to more collecting options. The knives below are all 1970 10-dot.

Barlow, 62009 1/2

Whittler, 6308 (this was the first knife I bought to "collect", in 1986)

Pen knife (or half-whittler), 6208

Peanut, 2220

Superb 10-dots, Dean! I especially like the whittlers.

I recently picked up a Case XX Trapper in 154-CM (CA9654- made in 2015) and am very impressed, great edge out of the box, 154-CM blades are a bit harder than the standard Case stainless, great fit and finish. Carrying it in my backpocket phone and knife case.

Fifteen years ago on a visit to my Dad's place in the middle of Michigan farm country, I mentioned how I would like to get a John Deere Case knife. John Deere farm equipment was iconic in that area and they had a dealer there, too. Over the years, I've looked at several examples and never really saw one that grabbed me.

And then I saw this one. It has a subtle John Deere logo and Kirinite covers. I didn't realize they came in a special John Deere box.

Very cool! I've got a two year old grandson that just loves my JD garden tractor. We just got him a little scoot around the driveway imitation. This would make a great first knife, in a few years. Grandpa might have to carry it for awhile, just to make it more special! :D;)
Is the logo deep etched? Just want to make sure it's not likely to wear off easily.

Thanks, yes, it is deeply stamped into the bolster.
