Let's see your traditional mammoth and/or ivory

There's quite a herd in this thread. More beautiful knives than you can shake a ivory stick at!

Christian, that Northwoods is gorgeous. I was tempted by one of those too. Glad to see it have such beautiful company (i.e. those 1911 grips).

That sir is a Bret Dowell custom, not a Northwoods.;)

From 6 people, including the photographers, I am fortunate to have gotten to know to one degree or another.

Don Hanson. (That mamoth disordered man can sure pick some of that stuff and forge a little steel too.) :D

That's a beauty Christian, others may pale in comparison anyway.

Maybe, but I would like to have the choice. I've long wanted something with elephant ivory, but it looks like that option is going to be taken away.

Thanks. That 1911 is one of my most treasured possessions. It was a gift from my previously anti wife.

Here's my contribution to this thread, it's a Keith Johnson BackPocket, covered in Elephant Ivory.

This is the only knife I ever had engraved and I love it dearly...

:D I like it a lot! I really like the main blade's shape. 3.5" is right in the sweet spot length wise. It's very pocket friendly since it's a single spring. Mammoth on this one is gorgeous and very nicely matched, in my opinion. What's not to like!? :)

Very nice! So I'll ask you a question - how do you like that 66 slim? :)

My new Davison mammoth ivory. The pics don't do it justice. The dark area is very dark green and has bluish hued swirls and marbling "fingerprints" in it

A boost for this thread since the posters here — bad influences they are — moved me to get this 48 northwoods with their pics. This is the first I've owned in mammoth and I'm VERY pleased with it.

A big  for Derrick and the KSF team for getting this run together, and then getting it out to my door in almost no time at all.

The scales are exactly what I was looking from the natural range of this material. Great color, with less grain/figure than you sometimes see in mammoth, because this one will be a user. (Not to insinuate anything about the durability of mammoth in particular, just a personal rule of thumb when it comes to organic materials on users. I'm pretty confident it should hold up fine based on the feedback I've seen.)

This particular hawthorne will probably be a staple in my rotation lineup for a long time to come. It puts a smile on my face when I see it — one of the underappreciated 'uses' of an edc, imho.

For that, a  to you bad influences as well! :D
