Lets talk GEC!

74 stallion is a clip blade and the 74 mustang is a drop point. But, the clip blade changes the entire dynamic of the 74 frame its more ergo and its pinchable clip does not require a eo notch or relief in the scale once the knife has worn down. Not to mention the aesthetics of the clip is better imo. I feel like its almost a GEC lannys clip. The mustang drop point is reminiscent of the sodbuster/ff to me. One of the popular mods to the drop point is a clip point mod like the one DUE SOUTH offered. I feel the curved handle lends itself better to the curves on the gec View attachment 1417545 View attachment 1417546 View attachment 1417547 clip point.

IIRC, the last run of Mustangs were GEC branded with a stainless steel blade. Hope we see some in elk stag! :D:D:D

I know nothing, hear nothing re: future GEC releases.

My ideal would be stallions in elk and stainless

The clip blade on those stallions is gorgeous! I love the proportions. I sure hope they do run those after the mustangs.

So, are the 35’s over??? GEC has been so silent with their production schedule. I thought we might see some regular run 35’s and not all this sausage and SFO business.

I would have liked a M&G 35 but I’m tapped out right now. Maybe I can trade for one later.

I’m saving for a 47/74.

I just wish GEC would provide some updates.

The recent 2 blade 23 trappers in Northfield trim were between 140-160, and while the 35 M&G’s are smaller they do have fancier features (bolsters, cover materials), so they seem right in line.

I think it is easy to forget that two and three blade knives, fancy bolsters, custom etches, etc. are a lot more labor intensive to manufacture.
I only saw prices that high at a few of the ????? Dealers ????? that are trying to sell them at a much higher price than other dealers .

GEC did a great job with the fit/finish of the new beer and sausage. Strainer/comb has a weak spring but the other two blades are great.

Should have the ebony B&S in hand this week. Excited to see what it's all about. Probably going to skip the 74 run unless it's a stallion (doubtful) or has some nice stag covers. I am saving for the 47/massagua/viper/snake/who knows run. Of course I will try to grab a NW 35. Hopefully in stag or mammoth, but not getting my hopes up.

I'm also still waiting on the bullet 23 LLs. The 74s and the rumored 47s should take us through the end of the year right?
