Don’t feel to bad, I’ve dropped my B&S and 74 already as well onto concrete. Gives em some character![]()
Interesting that I’m not the only one who experiences this relief...I’m always relieved when I fumble and a knife and drop it, that I didn’t have the blade opened.![]()
Ultimately individual preference Jtb, although I think sometimes these forums give a distorted impression. The stainless 15 you bought features a lot in the 15s thread, but the same knife with a long pull and crisper lines gets overlooked (It is also a little too light imo).

Still trying to figure out how to use this forum. Thanks for the comments! To clarify, I'm not trying to retire on these as an investment, just thought it might give me something to do at that time since I do attend and set up occasionally at local gun shows. A hobby like others have stated. Would be nice to at least break even and have fun doing it. I like their quality and feel the price range is reasonable. I also wonder if he younger generation will give a rat's butt about nice traditional knives. Dang kids only want a zombie hacker they saw in a video game.Hi guys. And suppose some gals too. I love these GEC's. I've accumulated quite a few since I found my first one about 3 years ago. I plan on keeping them for a few years and maybe pass some to grandkids when they come along, and probably sell off the others to give me something to play with when I retire. Just looking for some opinions. Do you think they will still increase in value, or at least hold their value? I know, I wish we all knew the answer to that, but I did say opinion. Thanks for any input.
In rural areas kids still carry traditionals... Buck, Case, whatever is sold at the local hardware store or feed store.Still trying to figure out how to use this forum. Thanks for the comments! That's because rural kids already know how to take care of zombies and such.In rural areas kids still carry traditionals... Buck, Case, whatever is sold at the local hardware store or feed store.
You really don’t see those posted much, do you? I remember there was some discussion (although I don’t recall if any conclusion was reached) about why they extended the long pull down onto the tang like that.
Curious if the extra long pull was a mistake by GEC.

Those blades were designed for Charlie and a run of TC barlows when that was scrapped the blades were used on this run. Or at least that's how I heard it.You really don’t see those posted much, do you? That blade was used on the Chestnut Jigged Bone TC also. Was there supposed to be another run that was scrapped? Those blades were designed for Charlie and a run of TC barlows when that was scrapped the blades were used on this run. Or at least that's how I heard it.
I believe (could be wrong) the length of the pull is different. I think it goes different amounts into the tang. I also believe their are several different ones with the "extra" long pull. That blade was used on the Chestnut Jigged Bone TC also. Was there supposed to be another run that was scrapped?
I see. I thought they were the same blade, but I could be wrong. Got to check mine tonight.I believe (could be wrong) the length of the pull is different. I think it goes different amounts into the tang. I also believe their are several different ones with the "extra" long pull.

Nah, it was by design. I can't remember exactly why, but it was definitely on purpose.
Pretty sure it's a nod to the way some long pulls were done in the early 20th century.
