Lets talk GEC!

I spy new 77 pics on the GEC site!

My sheepsfoot blades are somewhere in that box...

Just noticed they listed the covers for the Madison Barlows on the 2014 schedule page:

#44 NORTHWOODS
Madison Barlow
Cocobolo Wood
Amber Jig Bone
Mammoth Bark Ivory
Green Camel Bone
Blue Camel Bone

Green Camel Bone? Sounds interesting. Have they done camel in green before? I'm curious about the Amber Jigged bone.

Yep, my Forest Jack came in green. Most fetching it is too:)

Oh man. I was all set for a blue camel bone Madison Barlow and the toss a green camel bone in the mix. Can't wait to see how they come out.

I believe some tortoise shell acrylic 54s are shown on the site...I know some of you are interested.

I was hoping for these, but I pulled the trigger on an Autumn gold Northfield last week. When I saw the pics of the tortoise shell earlier, I was a bit sad..... got home and my autumn gold was in the mailbox. I'm glad I passed on the tortoise. This is my first smooth autumn gold knife. Gotta say I love it!

I'm really looking forward to the #63, but I have to admit that the Northfield cover options are a bit ho hum.... I don't like stag and I'm not a fan of the yellow rose style covers. I really hope they nail it with the jigged bone. Grizzly cut blood red would be nice!

In regards to my most recent knives... this #54, a Northwoods #54, a TC soupbone, an antique yellow crownlifter and a natural micarta crownlifter.... build quality is absolutely outstanding. ... water tight springs, all nearly flush at half stop and bear trap springs on the #54's. GEC just seems to keep getting better, although none of them were quite shaving sharp.

I'm really liking the look of that seafoam acrylic. Have they used this before? The name sounds familiar...

Yes they have, on some earlier pen style knives, a few years ago I believe. And it's called Kryptonite.

Perry

Kryptonite is the Green and Black on the left. They have used it several times on various patterns. Sea Foam is the Blue Acrylic on the right. They may have used it early on, but not since 2009 that I recall.
