Lets talk GEC!

That new Whittler most certainly interests me, but I suppose it will be SFO which makes it near unobtainable for us enthusiasts outside America. Sigh....

The whittler will be a general run. There may be an SFO, but there will be general production behind it. I can't wait for the wharncliffe whittler; hopefully a tank like the Case Classics Bill brought to market (although I am sure he doesn't like the new compared to the old).

Nice news that Mike (no offence :D ) Really keen on this new pattern and a Wharncliffe would set my knife world aflame:thumbup: Would hope they don't make it too big in the bolster, can look very sleek with smaller caps in my view.

Thanks, Will.

Thank goodness that this is going to be a general run because when I saw the 38 on the website I was thinking that I missed another SFO (missed the bladeforums 2014 ,bladeforums 2011, gec77 CK sfo, and charlow 2014, I'm basically like the clevland browns of selecting QBs). I will get an SFO first hand!!!

I'm not sure if GEC has made some changes lately but the new crown lifter in antique yellow bone I received is so well put together it's scary. Dead nuts flush in all three positions and it's bloody sharp. Bravo GEC and the whole crew you guys are a the top of the pack imo.

There was also some "talk" around here a while back about sunken pins. The knives I've received out of the last several runs have either domed or flush pins. Blade play on the last big run of 99's was virtually non-existent. And that Worm Groove Bone on the 54's! They just keep getting better!

I like the longer streamlined look of this whittler pattern (as opposed to gepetto), though the main blade looks relatively short compared to the handle.

Oh I cant wait to see the varients that will roll out on the 38 frame. I would love to see a carpenters whittler with sheepsfoot main, clip and wharncliffe secondaries. Ah its nice to dream :)

That is awesome news to hear, my antique yellow bone crown lifter should be arriving tomorrow or Saturday.

Carpenter's whittler sounds like music to my ears.

More pictures of the Madison Barlows up! Looks like both long pull spear and drop points are in the works.

My thoughts as well. I am looking forward to the finished product though.

Merry Christmas Perry and everyone here on the Trad Forum!

Yes, the wormgroove came out sweet and should age really nicely with pocket wear. Love the color too.
