Lets talk GEC!

The #73 is available as a slip joint and as a slip joint with a liner locking tab. The #72 was introduced as a lockback and only in the last few months was a 2 blade slip joint version introduced.

I thought the 72 and 73 were both lockbacks? Does the 73 feel alot different in hand? I would be carrying as an edc in my rotation.

They handle very similar... Identical really. The main differences are that the 73 has a half stop and positive open just like a normal slip joint. The 73 is easier to open but no half stop. I personally prefer the half stop and positive opening on the 73. But the main difference is the drop point vs the clip point. The 73 has a drop point which IMO is a much more useful geometry, particularly when sliding the blade under things to cut, like rabbit skin, plastic covering, string etc...

To be honest, I thought I'd carry the 72 more. What being easier to open and a lockback... But that 73 just keeps finding its way into my pocket and I get a big ol grin on my dial when it snaps open and I unbundle the newspapers at work or cut up my pears...

Small, single-spring, a bellied and a straight blade...?

Some of y'all are going to like this one, especially if the blades prove open-able (remembering #26s, here). :)

They've certainly got their act together with all the spear and coping combos lately. I will have a hard time deciding whether to pocket a 33, Derrick's new #31/Norfolk, or this 3" piece!

That #09 looks great. Peanut size, 2 blades (including my favorite coping), single spring...perfect "off day" carry. As long as they don't stick a bail on it and pinch the bolsters, I'll have to get one of these.

Can we just take a moment and imagine that pattern in a bone, stag, wood, shadow variation...

The #9 esquire is looking like it's going to be a great peanut-sized GEC! I just hope they do a Northfield version in African Blackwood.

...Actually, I want everything done in African Blackwood :D

This little Griffon is 3 inches.
I'm putting this one on the list. It's growing out of control. :D

I'm sure they will make the 15 with a Wharncliffe it would only make since. They have done most all the other popular blades. Would be a cool one I think and make a lot of people happy. I was happy about the Sheepsfoot blade as that one is my favorite.

They did, in the Tom's Choice barlow.

You're correct too in that that they were a good seller. Sold like hotcakes. So did the spear points and clip points. Hard as heck to find one actually for sale anywhere though - Sold Out.

edited: oops this is a sheepsfoot. :o

So what would be the functional difference between a wharncliffe and a sheepsfoot? The shape and size of the cutting surface is the same.
