Lets talk GEC!

that looks great! nice and dark there. now none of this comes off in your hands?
Thanks! After a quick rinse, a shot of compressed air in the joints, and then a good amount of mineral oil you are all good to go. I haven’t had any bleed off into my hands, clothing, or a slip.

It's just what I want, so when one of you becomes overcome with boredom with yours you can send it to me for verification ;) I'll even pay factory price plus shipping :D

Not even bothering to ask after one from the dealers, i can hear the hollow laughter already :)

Amen, one of my usual go to dealers basically had the same message both times when I tried for Charlie's barlow then the glitter gold/osage and cocobolo 15, nope, all gone. He probably doesnt even have to update his website. I dont think its even been updated in ages to be honest.

Yes, more knives, please.

I do not have any green handled GECs - the only one that comes kind of close is this #12 in Camel Bone. I cannot recall what they called this color without checking the tube or #12 thread - Aqua something, if I remember correctly.

More Green Bone and more #81s - preferable as a Stockman.

I love my GEC toothpick (got the 'Che Chen Rosewood' one). I don't normally have much interest in 'aqua' anything, but your knife here is beautiful!

Love the sawcut in various colors, but you don't see them come up often, either as a new offering or for sale on the secondary market. I think of them as an older but familiar pattern and personally, I really like them.

While I’ve enjoyed seeing the latest batch of TC Barlows, and I would love to own one of these long pull 15s in cocobolo I find that I’m no longer willing to expend the effort required to acquire new releases.

I’m not complaining. In fact, I’m happy that so many new folks are “discovering” traditional slipjoints. Furthermore, it’s always good to be reminded that one should be content with what one has. I’m quite fortunate to own many more knives than any one person needs, and this humble yet stellar example will continue to scratch my 15 itch.

That's pretty much exactly how I feel. I don't need the stress and I'm lazy :) Its more fun looking at the pics and seeing the joy of those who got lucky or put in the effort. Living vicariously don't you know :p

While everyone was distracted by the 15s I was able to secure the micarta 85. The 85 is a more preferred size for me anyway.

Knife content, my first GEC.

Isn't that a 78? The tang stamp says 78 and it doesn't look like an 85. Nice knife and congrats on your first GEC :thumbsup::thumbsup:
