Lets talk GEC!

Bump with a little 29 love.

I wished the 29’s had been 2 springers, but I love the idea of them.

Is it just me, or are your carvings getting older and grumpier as time goes on?

I really like it when collections shrink down, you can really tell what means the most to the collector.
You have a small but mighty collection, and I like the way you seem collect in pairs.

Thanks. I definitely feel like I’m finally honing in on knives that appeal to me. There’s a couple GEC patterns that I’d like to add but I’ll wait until they (hopefully) run them again - 68 and 66 jacks come to mind but I’m sure there’s a couple others.

I’ve also reduced the number of Case and Buck knives I have, so my total collection is moving this direction as well. I only kept the ones that were gifts or had some personal meaning to me.

I was joking with my wife this weekend that I’m not a very “good” collector because having too much stuff seems to cause me angst. Anyway I feel recharged and excited to see what’s on the horizon for 2021.

OK, I’m now officially excited about the new 38’s. Are these Splitback style with 2 springs or are these going to be 3 spring Whittlers like the recent 29’s?

The jigged bone for the Northfields is looking good.

Those bloodwoods are going to be great. The jig bone for the 38 appears to be similar to the jigging on Charlie's lamb. Should turn out really nice.
