Lets talk GEC!

Boy those look like some square handles on those cocobolo versions... trick of the eye? Or real?

Looks like there will be some nice fixed blades coming up soon. I have one of the smaller H10’s. I may have to get one of these Bocote versions in in the larger H40 size.

Looks like they are making some Cocobolo versions too.

Not too interested in the 38s, but now you (and GEC) have my complete attention! I will definitely be looking to grab one of these up.

And these fixed blades have not made it to the production schedule yet. I’m hoping to see some sort of aged/soup bone as an option. Something like the one above, but maybe in red (true dark red, no pink please).

I have only been chasing GECs for a little over a year now, but I was thinking about what has released since. 62, 23, 35 B&S, 33, 74, 47, 19, 15 TCs & boys knife, 85CL, and now the 38 whittlers (order likely out of sequence). This seems like an extremely hot streak of awesome knives. Can anyone recall a time where so many great patterns were released in such a short amount of time?

I started with GEC just a bit before you, so add 93, 92, 29, and 86s to the string you mentioned. A pretty darn good stretch!

They've had some good runs in the past, but quite a bit different in that the quantity was less (100 ea vs 500+) with more variety in covers, special configurations for individual dealers etc. Either way, you picked it up at a good time. For me, they have been running some great patterns. Makes me wonder if we will see 72 or 77 to continue the trend.

To be precise, the 16 is called Little Indian Girl....might be why they haven't re-released it...or because it was not very popular at the time or due to having oversized bolsters ;)

Yes all those thoughts have occurred to me as well but I there's nothing stopping bill from re naming the knife. As for any concerns about them not being a good seller I think that's not likely. When they first came out GEC was a much smaller unknown company then today. It's no longer a question of "Will all the knives sell" but rather "Who will get to buy the knives" at least that's how it looks to me but I've got to be honest I've been wrong before.:eek::D:thumbsup:

I have heard that there is a low probably of the 16 being made again due to poor sales of the first run. That being said people change there mind and as t.willy t.willy stated the demand dynamic has changed quite a bit.

I feel like that's happened a couple times... Red Neck branded GEC's come to mind.
