Really like the jigging for the new 38's . I kind of like the shield that they are showing , but not if they leave it blank . It looks like the one on one of the Bokers . I would much prefer the UNXLD myself . If I get one and it is blank , I will have to have it engraved . Just can not leave it blank . It looks half done to me .View attachment 1533215
That’s not what I expected for the shield, but I like it! Also, the jigging looks fantastic.
That was my first thought too. Some engraving might mike the shield look more finished. Hopefully someone with some photoshop skills will show some possibilities.Really like the jigging for the new 38's . I kind of like the shield that they are showing , but not if they leave it blank . Thank you again, Mike, you've made me very happy to achieve such a long-term goal.
This has been posted elsewhere, but thought it should be in the GEC thread as well.
FINALLY!! With the most gracious help of Mike Latham (knifeswapper), this week I added the last two pieces to my GEC #53 Cuban Stockman collection. Thirteen years it took me to gather up one each of the 53 different handle variations, many of which were only made in single digits. The knives are displayed from top down and then by columns, in the same order as they are listed in the GEC production totals.

Interesting. Would this be the first time GEC has engraved shields after installing them on the knife?I heard from a source (can’t say who) that GEC won’t be leaving those shields blank. I’m not sure I’m allowed to say what it’ll be, but I can say that it’s not UN-X-LD.

BTW out of curiousity, which ones were the last two?

I'd take you up on that if it were a wager. I just don't see GEC making that mistake. Maybe a different mistake, like what they put on there, but I can't see them going out blank.Sorry. You should probably go back and check my post right after the one you quoted.![]()

In all seriousness, I highly doubt that GEC would do anything to those shields now that they’re on the knives.
