I just put mineral oil on my wood handles from time to time!So I have the 89 fruit knife in antique chestnut....is there anything thing I should do to the handle to help seal or protect it? I would hate to see that beautiful wood dry out or crack...any advice would help
There has been discussion (somewhere in this thread I think) about chestnut covers, but more because the wood is somewhat on the soft side. I recall a solution that at least one person came up with was to treat the handles with tung oil. As far as drying out and cracking goes, I wouldn't worry about that. The advice of a drop or two of mineral oil is indeed good! I tend to use that on many knife handles occasionally and it seems to work well. Plus, mineral oil is food safe and will never go rancid like olive oil will.So I have the 89 fruit knife in antique chestnut....is there anything thing I should do to the handle to help seal or protect it? Five days sounds just about perfect. Longer than that, and—like kids on a long car trip—we’ll just start arguing.I like the idea of two Polls!! We have lots of time, but we could shorten these further to say, five days??
Feedback??
Usually the price is revealed before they take orders, so then it's up to you.I'm not trying to start a pricing debate but looking for some reassurance
