I think we're overthinking the recurve bit. It is likely nothing more than a stylistic choice and the recurve itself on these blades (86s, 97s, 98s), though enough to catch the eye, is barely perceptible in use or even sharpening. Though I have sharpened my 97s more frequently than my 86s, I have had zero issues getting a good edge on them.

Typically, I do not like recurves on knives smaller than something I would use to delimb a tree. In this case though, it is subtle enough to not be a bother at all - which tells me it is just a style thing.

Agree with you - the recurve is slight, it's hardly a khukuri. Not a fan of recurves in general but on a clip it's fine IMO.

Does anyone have a photo of a past GEC knife in green sawcut hemlock?

There's some hemlock green photos of prior runs in jig bone that you should be able to find. It's quite a bit more red than green. Either way, with GEC the dye job is a crap shoot. Makes each run unique. I'm excited to see how they turn out. Should be nice as usual, and hopefully very red

Were there any production pics of hemlock bone covers for BF knife? Have I missed something? Nothing on GECs website, and I assumed that we will see some ready knives before the ordering.

I expect we won't see any until it's release as a cover photo. So it will be a nice surprise as the finished product. I could be wrong though.

Never been done before so you won’t see any pictures of it. It’s been done before in jigged bone. But sadly your not eligible for the knife. You don’t have enough posts here in the Traditional sub forum. Maybe next year.
