Lets talk GEC!

As Mr Knife mentioned, Erie International Airport is a good place to fly into if connections and pricing are suitable..... Erie is roughly 1/2 the distance to Titusville versus Pittsburgh to Titusville.....

i would love to see some one ride a horse to the factory, it would be hilarious! titusville is one of those towns that they can probably still get by if folks rode horses around there. the horses do come out during the oil festival

I'd love to ride my iron horse there someday. It's only 3 hours by 4 wheeled cage. But I no longer have an iron butt?

Me, too...... except for me it would be about 20 hours.... a two day ride. I suppose I could just "man up" and do it in one day to count it as an "iron butt" ride... I haven't done one of those yet. My longest one day ride so far is about 650 miles. Maybe it's time....

its possible to bike from the cross creek resort, i did consider it given that the venue has changed a bit over the years. lot more drinking and partying especially if you do the night camp out which i hear is a lot of fun.

😁 😁

That may keep me away... it's not my thing.

you dont have to drink! I always bring something nice for the event, but this time do the timing switch of the lunch picnic to a dinner, and I didnt even get a chance to break the bottle of Eagle Rare I brought for the event. I was also too tired to stick around for the all night camp out. If you have seen lethal weapon, imagine Detective Murtaugh's famous line. "im too old for this s..."

I've been there every year since 2014, and I wouldn't say there's significant drinking and I have seen absolutely no partying at the factory amongst those who sit out overnight. There's always one or two people sipping at bourbon or some other liquor and a couple people with beers, but it's never been rowdy in any way. The most rowdy was in 2019 when people were a bit pushy in the store, but that was once it opened. I haven't been at Cross Creek overnight yet, so I don't know what it's like.

The overnight crowd just sits and talks knives and shows them off. It's a good time if you don't mind the wait and being tired the next day.

hopefully the good old boys will be back next year. im already debating my attendance in lieu of the mad scramble that has been gec knives lately.
I'm going to try for 2022!! I've found it to be a most enjoyable time, and the younger people who come to a knife show are very interesting, even to this 77 year old curmudgeon!! 🤣
